Guide

personnel upon

Treatment Plan
Problem 1 (mental): I am prone to negative self-talk and self-judgements during a crisis. I
compare myself to others and tell myself I cannot stop and rest while others are working hard
to solve the situation.
Goal 1: I will address my self-condemning thoughts in 1 month by replacing
negative core beliefs with positive core beliefs that allow for self-care activities without
condemnation.
Objective 1: I will work with an EMDR therapist to identify my negative
core beliefs (e.g. “I am bad and selfish”) and process them with EMDR therapy to replace
them with positive beliefs (“I am good and caring“) regarding self-care.
Intervention 1: My EMDR therapist will help me to identify my
negative core beliefs surrounding self-care and where they originated from so, they can be
processed and exchanged for positive beliefs in a period of 1 month resulting in my ability to
carry out self-care without negative self-talk and self-judgements.
Problem 2 (physical): I drink approximately 340-510 mg. of caffeine per day, which could
cause me to be prone to burnout sense I am forcing my body to ignore its natural signals of
when to rest.
Goal 1: I will address my caffeine use by reducing it to one 16 oz. latte per day in
1 month by gradual reduction, which will result in me being more mindful when my body is
signaling it needs rest.
Objective 1: I will keep a journal over the next month of how much
caffeine I consume, what time of the day I consume it, and any stressors that were happening
at the time of consumption.
Intervention 1: My therapist will help me setup my caffeine
consumption journal and will weekly check-in on my progress so any contributing stressors
can be addressed which would result in me reducing my caffeine consumption to one 16 oz.
latte per day in 1 month.
Problem 3 (emotional): I sometimes feel unsafe when with individuals who are having a
strong anger reaction to something that has nothing to do with me. Their intensity seems to
trigger stress reactions in me.
Goal 1: I will address feelings of danger when others are having an anger reaction
not involving me by processing my past trauma with an EMDR therapist resulting in
restoring my emotional sense of safety in the next 3 months.
DISASTER/REFERRAL PLAN FOR NORTH TARRANT COUNTY 17
Objective 1: I will work with an EMDR therapist over the next 3 months
to identify unprocessed past traumas and process them with EMDR therapy to facilitate
feelings of safety and emotional stability when others are reacting with anger.
Intervention 1: My EMDR therapist will help me to identify my
unpressed past traumas so they can be processed thus increasing my sense of emotional
safety and stability in the next 3 months.
Problem 4 (social): I am prone to workaholism and use my colleagues at work as my social
outlet. This sometimes leads me to a pessimistic view of the world since most of our talk
revolves around clients’ cases.
Goal 1: I will broaden my social circle to add more fun into my life outside of
clients’ issues by fostering relationships with those who are not in the mental health field in
the next 2 months.
Objective 1: I will get involved with a small group at my church so I can
expose myself to others who are not in the mental health field in 1 months’ time, which will
increase my optimism about life and others.
Intervention 1: My therapist will serve as my accountability
partner to achieve the goal I set for myself in joining a small group at my church in the next
month to broaden my social circles and to combat pessimism.
Problem 5 (spiritual): I can lean towards self-sufficiency instead of leaning on the Holy
Spirit to be my source of knowledge or sense of safety, which can lead to burnout.
Goal 1: I will acknowledge that my earthly knowledge is no match for God’s
knowledge and that my sense of safety comes from Him, which will be apparent by my
decrease in anxiety and an increase in self-care management over the next 2 months.
Objective 1: I will utilize mindfulness exercises at least 5 days each week
over the next 2 months so I can notice when I am pulling from my knowledge rather than
depending on God as the source..
Intervention 1: My therapist will help me to practice mindfulness
to notice if I am my own source or if I am relying on God by teaching me mindfulness
exercises over the next 2 months.
