Reason for Referral/Presenting Problem
Claire was referred to counseling by her school counselor due to some concerns. Her
father brought her in to the facility, Great Lakes Clinical Associates of Chicago. Shortly after
serving Saturday school detention, her behavior concerns started to arise and become noticeable
to adults around her. Some of these concerns include skipping class, smoking marijuana, forcing
herself to vomit (weight control), hanging out with older men, and pulling out hair on various
places of her body. A lot of these characteristics were followed with the comments “it makes me
feel better” or “it’s not really a problem” by Claire.
