Assessment
The Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ) would be the best assessment for Sam’s case.
It is a self-report questionnaire that is easy and quick for a physician to score. A positive
screening allows the physician to gauge where Sam is, if she is experiencing manic or
hypomanic episodes and if she needs further assessments or treatments based upon impairment
and severity (Wang et al., 2020).
