Abstract
Black culture is cardinal to the history and development of Blackness in America. From Africa to
America, I take pride in Black Americans’ progress over the past hundreds of years. There was
once a time where Black people could not express the joy of being Black. Today, being Black
and proud is supported and accepted by most people. Cultures and values were passed down
through generations, and when generations were divided, new cultures were developed and
continued to be passed down. Community and fellowship are at the foundation of culture for
Black Americans. Foundational values never change; they are permanently embedded in us to
push us further.
