When thinking about this assignment, I was reminded that I recently discussed this in a previous
assignment.

Creating an environment to help students learn some of the most important things in their
lives, that they will carry with them throughout the rest of their lives. Creating a positive
environment and relationships throughout the process of their academic career is vital.
Students are at school 6-7 hours per day, so the impact that educators have on them is so
great. So, each school staff member that they are in contact with will have a huge impact
on their lives throughout the process of their education (Benchmark: Education and
purpose, 2022).
I have learned so much in the process of this program, but also by experience in the school
system over the past year. I have been in a role differently in the past, but this experience is
definitely a different perspective. In reality, education must be obtainable to students. One of the
main issues with being able to do this is simply, staff relationships. If they feel defeated,
threatened, belittled, etcetera, they will likely not perform to the best of their abilities. I often see
a student give up and just decide, I am not going to do this because of what this teacher did or
how they just treated me.
When thinking about the impact I would like to have on students each day, I think of experiences
I have had throughout my journey in my own education. I had a lot of negative and positive
experiences. My goal is to always try and create a positive trusting relationship with my students.
I want them to feel as though they are being treated with respect and dignity no matter what. I
did not always have that as a student, so I strive to do this daily. I only hope that I continue to
learn and grow as an educator in the future to only increase the positive impact on the students.
