BRIEF: CONFLICT STRATEGY ASSIGNMENT
Conflict Strategy Executive Summary
In any conflict, there are parties that take their own side of a particular
argument and may not see another side to the conflict. How do the parties
move past the conflict, come out on the other side, and move forward in
unison? The three textbooks have some great strategies and ways that
conflict can be mitigated and lessened moving forward. Robert Jones talks
about reconciliation in action, or how actions to progress the relationship and
the conflict can help to reconcile differences, and he also talks about
apologizing in a way that makes a difference. Likewise, Roger Fisher, William
Ury and Bruce Patton talk about not bargaining over positions, or only taking
one side and not accounting for the truths of the other side, and about
separating the people from the problem itself. Lastly, John Lederach teaches
that one must connect resolution with transformation to truly reconcile the
problem and move past the conflict. In my own personal conflict that I will be
