‘Response to Peers’
Student 1
I enjoyed reading through your discussion, as it was quite captivating and informative. The
introduction was simple, explicit, and direct to the point. It elicits readers to know what to expect
in the entire essay. From the introduction, one could easily deduce that the student was going to
put forth arguments that favor benefits of teleworking as compared to the misgivings.
Throughout the discussion, the student provided clear evidence and practical example to support
their views. The student has also provided both the benefits and the misgivings to clearly bring
out different positions in relation to teleworking.
The content of the essay was well organized and flowed smoothly making it easy for readers to
connect ideas. The arguments are in a number of cases masterly supported by evidence of a
number of overarching views pointed out through referencing. For instance, I agree with the
student that a worker is more productive in the comfort of their own setting, rather than a setting
at the workplace (Bosua et al., 2017). Despite the work appearing captivating, the student had a
tendency of using very old sources yet a lot has changed over time. Secondly, the student did not
have a thesis statement in their introduction.
Student 2
From the introduction, I could clearly hear the inner voice of the student and their strong
sentiments especially with the current global pandemic of COVID-19. The student throughout
the essay remains practical in their argument while backing up their claims with practical things
that occur in many working environments. Although the student doesn’t have a conclusion, their
take on the matter of teleworking is clear.

I find the flow of the argument well organized with flowing ideas making it easy for audiences to
follow through. The student goes ahead to support their arguments with existing literature
through referencing. I agree with the student on the fact that teleworking is almost inevitable due
the current pandemic that the world is battling with (Raišienė et al., 2020). However, a good
number of the reasons given by the student to justify the advantages of teleworking are quite
misplaced and significantly personal and unrepresentative. As claimed by Di Domenico et al.
(2020), I disagree to the fact that working from home should be based on performance and well
performing employees to work from home. Despite a number of valid advantages and
disadvantages, the student’s paragraphs do not start with robust topic sentence. Secondly the
student did not have a conclusion making the reader to second guess their stand on the main
concept.
