CORRECTIONAL GOALS AND PRISON PRIVITIZATION 2
Abstract
Two articles that were selected for critiquing will be analyzed and discussed in this paper, one
being on the risks and benefits of prison privatization and the other being about the impact of
prison privatization on transparency and accountability within the prison setting. It is highly
important to understand these topics within the field of criminal justice to assess whether or not
certain policies that are in place in prison systems should be continued or omitted. Strengths and
weaknesses of each article will be heavily discussed as well as the biblical relevance and
connection the articles have to Christianity. While privatization of prisons has some researched
benefits, there are also many disadvantages that need to be pointed out as well.
