The Vision
The vision of my Discipleship Group is to present an integrated curriculum for spiritual
apprenticeship in the Christian life with God, a set of basic, sequential, and gradual studies that
address our spirits and minds. I believe that discipleship is a lifelong learning journey and
growing in our relationship with God. Our vision is to provide a structured program that can help
individuals take the first steps toward becoming committed disciples of Christ.
In his book Disciple Making Is...: How to Live the Great Commission with Passion and
Confidence, Dave Earley talks about how important it is to do what Jesus says.1 Earley says that
to be a disciple, we must not only believe in Christ but also follow Him and do what He tells us
to do in our everyday lives.2 This means building a strong relationship with God, learning more
about His Word, and actively trying to do what He wants.3 As a discipleship group, we will help
people take steps toward following Christ's teachings in their everyday lives.
The Purpose
The purpose of our group is to teach the new believer how to be a disciple of Christ and
why it is important to be a disciple. We will focus on studying the character of God, Jesus, the
character of humans as God created, the relationships, the inner healing, the great commission,
and the servant's character. Through these topics, we hope to help everyone in the group better
understand who God is, how He relates to us, and how we can live out our faith practically.

The book The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a classic about
discipleship.4 Bonhoeffer says that true discipleship means giving up our will and following
Christ no matter what. "When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die,"5:he writes.
Bonhoeffer talks about the importance of grace and obedience in the Christian life.6 He says that
if we want to follow Christ, we must be willing to give up our plans and wants.7 As a discipleship
group, we will help people grow in their love for Christ and willingness to follow Him, even
when it's hard or costs something.
The Goal
My goal is to equip new believers in their relationship with God until they become
servants of the Lord. We want to help new believers develop a strong faith and discipleship
foundation and equip them with the knowledge and tools they need to grow and thrive in their
spiritual lives. I hope that each participating in our discipleship group will leave with a deeper
understanding of who God is and how they can live a life that honors and serves Him.
In this book, Francis Chan shows how to make disciples practically, focusing on how
important it is to multiply.8 Chan says that being a disciple isn't just about personal growth; it's
also about making more disciples who can make more disciples.9 He gives practical tools for
making disciples, focusing on studying the Bible together, holding each other accountable, and

sharing our faith with others.10 As a Discipleship Group, we can use the ideas in this book to help
people grow in their faith, actively make disciples, and increase the impact of our group.
The Target Audience
The target audience for our group is young adults. This demographic is particularly
receptive to learning and growing in their faith. We want to provide a space where they can
explore their spiritual questions and journey together toward a deeper relationship with God. We
recognize that this is a critical stage of life where each one makes important decisions about their
values, beliefs, and priorities. I hope to provide a supportive community where they can grow in
their faith and find guidance and mentorship.
Conclusion
In conclusion, our Discipleship Group is focused on providing a structured program for
spiritual apprenticeship to help young adults become committed disciples of Christ. Through our
vision, purpose, goals, and target audience, we hope to create a supportive community where
individuals can grow in their faith and develop a deeper relationship with God.
Knowing what it means to be a follower of Christ is important as a discipleship group
leader. Dave Earley and Dietrich Bonhoeffer are two Christian authors who have written a lot
about discipleship. We will use what they have to say to guide our group.
In the end, our Discipleship Group is built on the ideas of obedience and giving up
everything for Christ. Using Dave Earley's and Dietrich Bonhoeffer's ideas, we want to help
people grow closer to God and live out their faith in real and meaningful ways. We want to make
a community where people can grow in their faith and become true followers of Christ by
focusing on discipleship and commitment to Christ.
