Introduction
My story on my call to ministry is just in its beginning stages, which makes this paper a
little harder to write. I only recently switched my major to Christian Leadership with a focus in
Women’s Ministry. I have always struggled with what I wanted to do as a career, even in high
school nothing really spiked my interest career wise. God’s plan or calling for my life always
seemed nonexistent. It’s only by coming to Liberty that I learned that God does not always show
us full on his plan for our lives but gives us enough light to take the next step, so that is what I
am doing.
The Call
This past summer is when I really started to open my heart and mind to the thought of
doing full time ministry. I worked at a summer camp called Lake Ann as a camp counselor, and
it changed my life. It was way out of my comfort zone to even take this job in the first place. I
didn’t know anyone else at this camp nor have I been a camp counselor before. I had no idea
what I was doing. Throughout the summer, I constantly had to step out of my comfort zone and
trust that God was going to carry me through. This is the first time where I actually felt my faith
growing, despite growing up in a very strong Christian household. All the stress and anxiety
were worth it to be able to pour into those girls every week and see them grow in the Lord. It was
in this setting that I felt the Lord put a burden and a passion on my heart for young women. Part
of being a counselor is having one on ones with these girls, and this is their chance to talk to you
about the things going on in their lives. This was so influential for me as I listened to all the
things that they were going through. Being able to point them to biblical truth and give them
direction was so fulfilling. I have never felt this way about any other type of job, so I am
following this and trusting in the Lord for wherever He puts me.

Area of Ministry
The main area of ministry that I have felt led to be in is women’s ministry. I have the
most experience in this area and the most passion for it than any other area. I find that the
specific gifts that God has given me work really well at ministering and discipling women. I
would love to start out with teenage girls, more high school age, because I see a real need for
that. There are so many young girls going through unthinkable things, and they feel alone. They
feel they have no one to talk to and no solution. They are going through confusing things at such
young ages now and need help when it comes to decision making and the application of
scripture. However, I am very open to any area that the Lord would put me.
Demographic
Females between the ages 15-21 would be about the range I think I would be best used. I
have never thought about anything more specific than that wither it be inner city, suburbs, or
international. I just think this age is what I naturally gravitate towards and attract to Christ.
Young adults are where I see the Lord working the most through me, particularly in bigger cities.
This is where you see more LGBTQ affirmation and propaganda, and the Lord has placed a
passion in my heart for that.
Location
The local church is definitely where I feel the Lord putting me at. The church is
something that is near and dear to me as that is where I grew up because of being a pastor’s kid. I
was always super involved in the church, and that has definitely contributed to my love for it.
This is also where I can also branch out into a lot of different areas. For example. The Lord
really puts small groups on my heart. That is something that I am really passionate about and
would love to be a part of through the local church.

Conclusion
To conclude, my understanding and depth about my call to ministry is still very broad
and not all put together. I do not know all the specifics or what God will put in my path, but I
know he has placed this burden and passion within me for the sisters and daughters in Christ
around me. Young female adults between the ages of 15-21 are what I think the Lord is really
calling me to minister to through the local church in a city environment. I am not sure how this
will look like, so I keep 1 Thessalonians 5:24 in the forefront of my mind, “The one who calls
you is faithful, and he will do it.”
