Paul’s name was known in hell for many reasons. One was because he had no ambitions, so that meant
Paul had nothing to be jealous about. Another reason was he had no reputation, so he had nothing to
fight about. Also, Paul no longer had any possessions, so because of that he had nothing to worry about.
Paul had no “rights”, so he couldn’t suffer any wrong. He was so broken already that no one could break
him. Finally, Paul’s name was known in hell because he was “dead” so no one could kill him. This helps us
evaluate our lives because we too should be known in hell. We as followers of Christ should die to
ourselves of everything and truly take up our cross. This means possessions, family, dreams etc. It really
puts things in perspective when we see how Paul lived His life for Jesus. Many of us are not following in
Paul’s footsteps as Jesus’s true followers and we should.
