Discussion Reply: Variables, Z Scores, Population and Output
Following my perusal of Nakia McCormick's discussion forum, Ordinal variables are
mutually exclusive and rated in order of importance from low to high. To compare measurement
variables, Nakia mentions Morgan et al. (2020). Measurement variables are frequently employed
to achieve specific results in statistical research. Dichotomous variables, like nominal variables,
are mutually exclusive but are employed in an implied order where categories must be separated
from one another, for example, numerical value 1 for males 2 for females. Ordinal variables, like
nominal variables, are mutually exclusive and, like dichotomous variables, are used in an implied
order; however, unlike both, the variables are used to distinguish order, e.g., "I would
recommend this course to a student," with numbers one representing strongly disagree and five
representing strongly agree. Normal (scale) variables have the same features as all measurement
kinds; they are nominal variables employed in a dichotomous/ordinal fashion but with a high
order twist. Standard deviation, Z scores, polygon data, and nominal data are all covered. When a
normal curve is transformed to a standard normal curve, the mean is set to a starting numerical
value of 0, and the standard deviation is set to 1, as in positive and negative temperatures.
Because z scores show the numerical magnitude of the standard deviation on a normal curve, a z
score of -3.0 represents three standard deviations below the mean. Finally, nominal variables do
not have a value 'frequency' that must be measured due to frequency rise or decrease (as a
frequency polygon does) but instead consist of frequency weighted numeric values, utilizing a
frequency polygon to represent nominal data not be the ideal solution. To contribute to or expand
on this subject, I would want to cite Song et al. (2019), whose research serves as an example of
using Z scores in research.
Like a company's business strategies and models, a Christian's life is built on the Bible
and God's teachings. To be successful in business, we must establish a solid foundation based on
the principles of the Bible. Our spiritual beliefs and practices have the power to provide us the
strength to run this race called entrepreneurship. The truth is that only by submitting to our
creator do we position ourselves to produce the results that will allow us to be more, have more,
and accomplish more in all aspects of our lives. Romans 8:28 says that all things work together
for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (King James
Bible, 2017). Entrepreneurship is a fascinating world, and it is frequently associated with failure
and setbacks. However, when you know why you are doing what you are doing and are on
assignment, you will remember that everything – even the awful stuff – is working for your
good. In my perspective, Nakia's performance in his discussion forum post was above reproach. I
could not find anything in this article with which I disagreed. He did an excellent job of
explaining this module's themes.
