Keller's big-picture thinking promotes the overarching idealization that a Christian worldview
should dominate and impact all aspects of the work individuals do in the world. It provides the
ability for work to have meaning and ensure that meaning connected the fruition of fulfilling is to
God's purpose through the work of one's hands. Additionally, it supports the point that there
needs to be a balance between the identity that work provides as well as the substrate of
executing the work in the first place.
Hardy's Introductory Thought Resonance
Work provides self-esteem, identity, and purpose, and it is through work that one finds out who
they are and becomes cognizant of their talents, skills, and abilities (Hardy, 1990). Furthermore,
once identified, a person can begin to understand how these attributes and characteristics can be
utilized for profit (not specifically monetarily, but emotionally and supportively) for the
efficaciousness of others. The thought of work can skew to a positive or negative perspective.
Utilizing the Christian worldview perspective posited by Keller, the positive perspective comes
from meaningful work that furthers God's kingdom. It can spur frustration and implacability if
negatively viewed, especially if not tied to purposeful work (Keller & Alsdorf, 2014).
