The third “P” in the 4P marking mix framework is place. This piece of the framework
includes how the product gets to the market, the packaging, and where the product is placed
(e.g., an eye-catching display, highlights to bring the attention to the product, product displayed
on the front page of the online store, etc.) (Lahtinen et al., 2020). Product placement is helps
companies in meeting the needs of consumers through the supply chain process, reaching the
targeted consumers through retailers, and a marketing channel strategy.
Supply Chain
According to Tarafdar and Qrunfleh (2016), an agile supply chain strategy helps to
improve the supply chain performance. By keeping an agile supply chain strategy, it can help
maintain the flexibility needed to meet consumer and retailer demands as the market needs and
demands fluctuate. In addition, supply chain agility not only helps the company respond quickly
to volatile demand and short product life cycles but also is critical for the rapidly introduced new
products. The faster a new product is manufactured, the faster the company can market it to
consumers and meet demand as consumers become interested in the novelty of the product. This
creates a highly responsive supply chain that allows companies to produce and offer new
products and designs in a short time frame, such as on a week-to-week basis and have the new
products available in stores with a short lead time (Tarafdar & Qrunfleh, 2016). One example of
