This week’s discussion allows for a deep dive into the various trends in
healthcare that affect healthcare human resource management. Amongst
the various trends, teamwork is truly important. Marguet et al. (2019) states,
“teamwork is dynamic and involves two or more people with complementary
backgrounds and skills working toward common goals”. The key to
enhancing patient care and outcomes will be to strengthen cross-disciplinary
teamwork. Ecclesiastes 4:9 “Two are better than one, because they have a
good return for their labor” (New International Version, New International
Version Bible,1978/2011). Together, healthcare professionals may accomplish
two times as much work. Additionally, a large number of people have the
ability to benefit from the job done, fostering peace and a sense of
accomplishment.
Buljac et al. (2021) states, healthcare organizations are seen to benefit
greatly from teamwork in coping with a changing environmental dynamic.
Teamwork represents one of the most important aspects of a well-functioning
healthcare system, according to a number of studies. Teamwork is promoted
at work by human resource management in an effort to successfully boost
employee enthusiasm and commitment. Human resource management may
successfully ensure that workplace performance and productivity are
boosted by encouraging teamwork within an organization. As a result,
workers are more inclined to work harder and faster to finish big projects—
which ordinarily take several weeks a short period of time. A vital boost in
the quality increase and savings of expenses may be noticed through an
excellent human resource manager fostering teamwork to the members of
an organization. The enhancement in quality is evident when a variety of
more differing views, perspectives, and approaches to execute a task may be
presented to perform the challenges at hand. A reduction in harmful internal
competition may be observed as a result of a good human resource manager
successfully ensuring that cooperation is utilized within the organization. In
order to achieve their own goals, individuals of an organization may compete
destructively with one another, disregarding, impeding, and negatively
affecting the organization's ability to reach internal objectives.
The multidisciplinary teams in modern healthcare organizations are
made up of highly trained, intergenerational, and multicultural individuals.
Although each profession has a distinct concentration, they all have the
same overall objective: a positive patient care encounter and work
environment. Healthcare professionals adopt a collaboration method of care
delivery if they want to ensure that patients are pleased with their healthcare
experience. Collaboration in care coordination and excellent communication
are essential for teamwork. Team members should be encouraged to share
thoughts, express concerns, and ask questions in order to brainstorm
solutions. To provide the most effective patient care and to ensure work
performance, every team member's strength and ability must be leveraged.
Nursing teams are a great example of teamwork and need teamwork
techniques to enable them give patients the greatest possible care. Finding a
single practical answer can be challenging because nursing teams work in
complicated contexts and deal with several patient difficulties.
