Abstract
Unfortunately, there are many organizations treat their employees as if they are
dispensable. Companies with this mentality believe that even their greatest employees can be
easily replaced, especially since there is never a shortage of people looking for employment. For
them to believe in this type of flawed thinking results in them being extremely wrong. Successful
businesses understand and know that it is important for them to keep as many of their employees
around for as long as possible. By doing this, they do not have to spend large amounts of time
and money on replacing employees, which could end up hurting their bottom line. The long-term
health and success of organizations is dependent upon the retention of key employees.
Understanding the practices and policies of the human resources office that go into the retention
of employees is crucial since the human resources department is integral for any organization.
