2 Peter 3:9 ESV “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but
is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance”.
Verse Explanation
Patience is defined as the ability to wait for a long time without becoming annoyed or
upset (Merriam-Webster, 2017). The Lord will always come through with his promises on it just
on his timeline. Patience is a key component when asking praying and communicating with God.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up”
(Galatians 6:9 ESV). Christians typically try to abide by the religious guidelines of goodness and
keep trying to improve on following them everyday. The daily routine of following religious
guidelines can be stressful and hard at certain points. However, through faith and patience
Christians belief in the Lord always coming through to bless them and answer their prayers.
Repentance is being remorseful and learning a valuable lesson from unfavorable actions.
Completion of repentance should result in a change of manner and attitude to be a better person.
Improving to be a better person is part of the Christian way and is not always an easy path.
Mistakes and sins are inevitable but, the Lord is always on your side no matter how big the
concern is and God is always forgiving as long as repentance is in the picture.
SCM Improvements
Quality improvement is essentially an organization's attempts at improving its products
and processes in terms of meeting the expectations of its customers (Guo & Torres, 2004).
Quality improvement within the supply chain is crucial to the long term success of an
organization. Improvement initiatives can range from using specific methodology such as the
Kanban, Total Quality Management, and Six Sigma techniques. Improvements within the supply
chain will spread all throughout the organization filtering to the consumer, hopefully achieving

high levels of satisfaction. The success of these quality improvement methods are determined by
the effort and collaboration of the entire organization. Supply chain management is defined as
managers increasing improving and integrating traditional marketing, manufacturing,
purchasing, and logistics practices (Young, 2014 p. 3) Management within the supply chain
create value for the stakeholder by consistently improving upon processes and practices while
also increasing the organization’s competitive advantage.
The development of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology promises to enable
firms to streamline the process even more. RFID involves implanting every package of
goods with a small radio transmitter, enabling its owner to know exactly where it is every
minute of the day (The Economist, 2009).
One of the most current improvement methods within the supply chain is the Radio Frequency
Identification technology which tracks an organizations supply shipments.
The competitiveness of an organization (or a supply chain) is measured on the
response ability, the communication with the customer and the level of services, to be more
precise on the processes (Carmignani, 2009). An approach to supply chain management
improvement is the managerial implications of application. As the organization develops
their improvement strategic plan and activities it is then delegated to the manager.
Management responsibility is to gather the fundamental information for the strategic plan
and from there they create a tactical plan to accomplish the activities built to accomplish the
improvement proposal. Managers will delegate the tasks and activities down to the
departments and personnel. The design and implementation of a SCQM system is influenced
by varying needs, particular objectives, the products provided, the processes employed and
the size and structure of the need of the organization (Carmignani, 2009). The basic

meaning of supply chain quality management is the leaders applying the improvement
techniques to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the supply chain.
SCM & Faith
Organizational improvement within the supply chain can usually be attributed to
changing the relationship between the organization and the supplier. Referring back to the the
scripture improvement takes time and patience and strategic planning. Organizations expecting
change overnight is impractical because improvement strategies need to be implemented
gradually and require patience from the top leaders to see results. In comparison with being a
Christian and having faith in God, when praying and asking for change we must be patient. God
works on his own time and is always listening and cultivating results for his followers. Results
and responses from God takes individuals depending and believing in their faith in God.
Similar to supply chain management improvement Christians constantly ask for blessings
and repentance to improve on their faith and stay on the straight and narrow. Much of the
improvement in supply-chain management in recent years has come about because of improved
information systems that enable managers to know more accurately (and more quickly) exactly
what is where and when (The Economist, 2009). Christians use similar processes and methods to
develop on their faith and belief by attracting more believers through technology and social
media. Technology and information systems has improved organizations as a whole and the same
goes for Christians being able to increase their coverage of spreading the word of God. The
comprehensive knowledge and understanding will lead to beneficial outcomes for both
organization’s supply chain management and Christians leading their lives in the likeness of
God.
