Learning the tools of a New System
Three things I have learned about my computer are the Operating System (OS) which is
the primary software and controls all the functions of the computer system. The editing of
videos, pictures, update of applications all comes through your operating system. Another thing I
learned about my computer was how to organize files. I could color code each file, label each file
and manage each file as needed. However, the last thing I learned was the shutdown system. I
really thought shutting down the computer was just hitting the power button, I was wrong. The
shutting down process is consisted of shutting down all the applications that are open and
shutting down your operating system, then go into the system and select shut down. The
information I have gained is very important to me because I understand my computer and the
features it should offer. The shutdown system was the most important information I gained
because I was shutting it down all incorrect. A program that I want to explore is Microsoft excel
which is a program that is used to help you communicate business information effectively. Three
tools contained in Excel are calculations, communication and collaborating with others. This
program allows you to summarize numbers, gives you a visual of tables and graphs. There are so
many things this program should offer if you are looking to manage a business
or finances. [ CITATION She13 \l 1033 ] Some of the challenges I came across while working in
Excel are forming a graph with correct measures, tallying numbers to get an accurate count and
trying to figure out a great chart for my finances.
