Topic of Interest
After the onset of Covid-19, employers across the United States witnessed a quick and
extreme number of resignations, which has come to be known as The Great Resignation.
Employees have left all industry sectors, including white and blue collared. Companies across
the nation have been struggling as managers have had to deal with employees leaving across
various positions and are struggling to fill numerous job openings.
Problem Statement
Over the past few years, since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, millions of American
workers have chosen to resign from their once-satisfying employment. This great resignation has
been the cause of significant issues within the United States economy and global supply chains.
Since the movement started, there have been several studies to determine the reasons why
employees have chosen to leave their job. This paper will explore why employees decide to go,
what are necessary needs of employees are, what are nonnegotiables for employees and what
companies need to do to attract employees to stay and hire new.
