RESEARCH DESIGN 2
Research design provides an outline for attaining research objectives. Besides numerous
definitions that describe research design, there are common properties such as guiding the
selection of information sources and providing a framework used in specifying the relationship
between the variables used in a study (Schindler, 2019). The research design also plays a critical
role in defining the procedure to apply when collecting data and evaluating the gathered data.
There is a debate involving the measurement of research design. The question entails whether
design differs when gauged under environmental conditions (field conditions) or manipulated
conditions (laboratory conditions) (Rahi, 2017). In the research process, there are other
components used in solving the problem. Sampling could be one of the alternatives to use when
selecting the best name for the organization. The initial process of choosing a name would allow
the employees to come with their suggestions anonymously. In such a scenario, some employees
could come up with recommendations that could appear wrong. However, the subsequent
processes could be critical in addressing that problem.
It is vital to develop a design that will facilitate selecting an appropriate name for the
global business. The process could be simple but complex. Some steps can be used in choosing
the best name from the list provided by the employees. Firstly, I would seek to get views from all
the people who would like to be part of the company. In getting their opinions, voting and survey
approaches could be appropriate in getting the initial name suggestions. The employees should
be guided with the sole purpose of getting the right name that projects a good image of the global
business.
Secondly, as mentioned earlier, the following steps should eliminate any problems done
in the previous stages. After getting name suggestions from the employees and other key
stakeholders, the managers should delve into the process of removing names that seem to not

convenient for the business. The managers should go through all the name's suggestions while
eliminating names perceived to be inconsistent with the organization's goal. However, the
managers should adopt a mechanism that will ensure all the names are assessed without
prejudice. For example, criteria can be developed where names that appear vulgar or rude
become eliminated. The other criteria would be selecting names based on uniqueness, memory,
the name's attractiveness, and whether the name identifies with the company.
Thirdly, the other step would entail involving leaders in the selection of the names. The
first step involved the employees. This step involves the incorporation of all employees in name
selection. The existing list should pass through the supervisors before being submitted to the
upper management for further brainstorming. In this step, the names are relative few as the
second stage involved eliminating non-appealing names. Therefore, the names submitted to the
management should be safe. The names should adhere to requirements such as the company's
policies, ethical principles, and legal standards.
Fourthly, the names should be submitted to the public relations department to gauge
whether then name appeals to the intended audience. The department plays an essential role in
establishing the suggested name's relevance with what the organizations seek to achieve in a
particular niche. For example, it could be inappropriate to adopt a name that seems to suit older
people well, yet it is meant for the young generation. The department should ensure that the
name creates a positive image of the company.
Lastly, the last step takes place, which involves a final selection. It is the sole
responsibility of the top management to approve and endorse the selected name. At this stage, all
the changes should be complete. All the considerations should be completed as the name cannot
be modified immediately after adoption.

Conclusively, the significance of names is demonstrated in the Bible as it depicts a trait
or environment. According to Genesis 17:17, when God told Abraham that he would get a son,
he was 100 years while his wife Sarah was 90 years old, the two engaged in a laughter.
Thereafter, Sarah went ahead to get a son whom they named Isaac meaning “laughter”. Based on
the nature of the business the business intends to take in any part of the globe, the name it selects
would have great impacts when pursuing. Secondly, the name shows the purpose it seeks to
pursue. For example, in Matthew 1:21, the Bible says that “She will have a son and you will
name him Jesus because he will save people from their sins.
