BUSI 600 Case Assignment 3
If you were McMahon Group, how would you present the findings of your study to the
NCRCC board? Explain the rationale for your chosen method.
If I was a part of the McMahon Group and was tasked with presenting the findings of the
research study to the NCR Country Club board, I would emphasize the data that was obtained
from the study as a whole and make that the focal point of the presentation. The results that were
retrieved by the McMahon Group’s research team should provide great insight as to what those
who participated in the study feel should be done to improve the NCR Country Club and create a
more appealing experience. Although presenting the data that was found during the research
study would provide an outstanding foundation on which to make decisions concerning the
future of the country club, according to research conducted by Popescu, “The mere presentation
of facts, figures or pieces of information is never sufficient to be persuasive” (2013).
In order for the presentation to properly convey the changes that the data shows could
improve the NCR Country Club and help the facility to bring in and retain members, the
researcher could perhaps implement the teachings of Aristotle’s Principles of Persuasive
Communication. These persuasion techniques involve utilizing the use of the ethos, pathos, and
logos in combination in order to “deliver the message memorably with the intended effect”
(Cooper & Schindler, 2014). The use of persuasive speaking techniques by the presenter could
further aid in the delivery of the data to the NCR Country Club board and may be the deciding
factor in enticing the board to act based on the research study results.
The researcher could also find perspective from the Bible when thinking of persuasive
speaking. In James 5:12 we are told, “But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven

or by earth or by any other oath, but let your ‘yes’ be yes and your ‘no’ be no, so that you may
not fall under condemnation” (ESV). This verse could remind the researcher that while the
implementation of persuasive speaking in a presentation is important, he or she should not give
false information in order to make themselves look better. The researcher could use this verse to
realize that by following the word of God, their actions should be ethically and morally sound
and should not compromise their faith for the personal gain of worldly possessions.
What would you recommend to the board of NCRCC with respect to adding facilities like
tennis courts, a swimming pool, a spa, a fitness center, and a year-round driving range?
When considering what recommendations should be made to the board of the NCR
Country Club in regard to the addition of the new types of facilities that are mentioned within the
research study, the researcher should base his or her recommendation on the results of the study
and the responses gathered from the members of the country club. My recommendation as the
researcher would be to make improvements to the golf course and the dining club first and
foremost to appease the current members, as the survey results showed that members were not
satisfied with the performance and appearance of either aspect of the NCR Country Club.
Secondly, the NCR Country Club may also benefit from adding the new facilities
mentioned in the survey such as tennis courts, a swimming pool, fitness centers, driving ranges,
and spas to the current establishment. While adding these new facilities was not a very
important factor to current members, those who were not already associated with the NCR
Country Club found the possibility of the new additions very appealing. With the addition of the
new facilities, the NCR Country Club may see an influx in previously non-affiliated members.
Research conducted by Shiue and Li has shown that “companies should not ignore dissatisfied
consumers, or even satisfied ones” (2013). As long as the NCR Country Club facilitates the

improvement of the golfing and dining experience to satisfy the current club members and brings
in additional amenities to attract new members, the NCR Country Club should put itself in a
position to expand its membership numbers and become even more profitable as well. Using the
data and responses from the participants found in the surveys, the researcher with the McMahon
Group should be able to offer the NCR Country Club a number of solutions and different
strategic avenues the NCRCC can take in order to promote the business and allow the NCRCC to
thrive in their industry.
