Running head: STARTING AND NAMING A BUSINESS 2
I would differ with Andersons's argument concerning the involvement of Kelsey in the
business. Involving her in the business would not lead to separation since Kelsey’s husband would
be advised on the advantage of allowing her wife to participate in the business. In the future, Kelsey
might use the skills and experience acquired from Shania’s business to lead their family business.
According to Proverbs 31:12-16, "She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
She seeks wool and flax and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she
brings her food from afar. She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and
portions for her maidens. She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands, she plants
a vineyard (The Bible, English Standard Version). This means that Kelsey needs to work hard for
the sake of her family and use a portion of her salary for family development projects. A wife is
for bringing joy and support to a man.
The spiritual act of man and woman to join and become one implies that they both need to
support each other in the financial sector. Kelsey, therefore, is supposed to support her husband by
contributing her finances for the development of the family. Since it is a new business Shania
should not involve Carlos in the business since he is not born again and most of the customers in
the region are Christians. Being a non-Christian may engage in spiritual arguments concerning
their beliefs. This might affect the customers who have Christian beliefs and this may lower the
number of customers who visit the coffeehouse. Shania is supposed to employ a Christian who
would attract Christians to the coffeehouse. Involving Carlos in the business might change his
beliefs but this might have negatively affected the business (Appleby & Lerner, 2015).

It is good for Shania to promote a racial or ethnic minority employee in the organization.
This shows that she values the employees regardless of racial or ethnic differences. Shania is
supposed to comply with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This law prohibits employers
from discriminating against employees in an organization that has 15 or more employees on basis
of race, color, religion, and gender ("Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 | U.S. Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission", 2020). Shania also being a Christian is supposed to obey
the Galatians 3: 28, which states, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free,
there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (The Bible, English Standard
Version). Since all Christians are one in the body of Christ. Racism or ethnicity should not be
allowed in the organization and therefore Sheila is supposed to motivate an employee depending
on the quality of his or her work in the organization. Sheila has shown her ethics for not supporting
ethnicity since this might lead to a high turnover rate and reduced employee productivity (Falk,
2015).
