Recommendations for Adding and Changing Programming Activities
Ms. Randolph would recommend the board of NCRCC to take in consideration
the results from the survey that was conducted by McMahon Group. The board of
NCRCC should focus on the activities that are most wanted by the members of the golf
club. In regards to adding more activities, Ms. Randolph would recommend first adding
those activities that had the highest percentage rate because those are the activities that
are wanted the most by the members of the golf club. Based on the survey results, the
swimming pool and spa were the two activities with the highest percentage rates. New
facilities were an attraction for the non-NCR affiliated segment. These new facilities
provide the best opportunity to broaden the attraction of the golf club.
Active recreation facilities and organized sports programs natural features, and
good levels of maintenance and cleanliness are most significant factors attracting children
and families with children (Loukaitou-Sideris & Sideris, 2010). According to Loukaitou-
Sideris & Sideris’s (2010) regression models, it is confirmed that inner city and suburban
children are attracted to parks of different sizes containing different facilities. The board
of NCRCC should focus on adding those activities such as swimming pools to attract
those families with children and children in general. Ms. Randolph would also
recommend adding activities for different age groups of children for those families with
younger kids. This will allow children to be entertained while their parents are playing
golf. The board of NCRCC should also include a lot of outside activities for the children
since most of the parents will be outside interacting in golf. The outdoor setting of a park
can give younger children opportunities to get involved in free play or discovery and
exploration of nature (Loukaitou-Sideris & Sideris, 2010). When families with children
know that this type of service comes with their membership it will attract them more and
have them wanting to join the golf club.
In addition to adding more children facilities, Ms. Randolph would recommend
the board of NCRCC to add a daycare center for those single parents wanting to join the
golf club or who are already members. This service would also be beneficial for those
families with both parents and children wanting to play golf. They would have the
opportunity to drop their children off to the daycare center and have then interact with all

the other kids and there will be many activities’ for the children to do at the center.
Having a daycare center at the golf club would allow the adults to engage in more
activities. This service could also help the golf club attract and recruit new members.
Within the Health and Fitness Center, Ms. Randolph would recommend the board of
NCRCC to add fitness activities such as dance aerobics and zumba. These are two fun
activities for those adults who like to workout and stay fit. Also, by adding a spa and
including special rates and discounts could attract new members.
Recommendations for Changing Current Operations
Based of the survey results, 72 percent of NCRR member were either satisfied or
very satisfied with the golf club. In addition, 63 percent of members currently saw the
club as “Adult Golf and Dinning Club.” Ms. Randolph would recommend the board of
NCRCC make changes to balance out the activities for all ages group of members so that
everyone feels they have things to do. In order to satisfy the over 65 age group, Ms.
Randolph would recommend the board of NCRCC change the course layout and its
condition to improve it, since the older members use the golf course more often. By
doing so, this will allow for NCRCC to keep their older generation of golf club members.
Having great customer service is very important and means the most to all
customers. Due to the dissatisfaction with current dining services, Ms. Randolph would
recommend NCRCC to improve the dining services. They could hire new employees and
even ask the customers what is not working for them so that it can change. To do this,
NCRCC could leave customer service surveys on each table and ask customers to fill
them out before they leave. A lot of companies survey customer satisfaction and use the
results to benchmark performance in sales, service, and other areas (Keenan, 2000).
Based on the survey results from the McMahon Group, Ms. Randolph would recommend
the board of NCRCC increase their speed of service; this could be done by hiring more
help, the board of NCRCC should relieve those unprofessional employees of their duties
and replace them with more professional workers, and add more food variety to the
menus. To help NCRCC determine what foods to add they could conduct a survey and
provide them to the customers as they walk in the door.
