Group 1
Group Consensus Report
Team Dynamic
As a team, all of us have had some exposure to working in online groups in the past,
either through school or in our work environments. The consensus seems to be that we have all,
fortunately, had positive experiences, though some of us prefer to have sole control over our own
destiny. Team 1 is committed to working together to achieve a common goal.
Our personality types vary, which bids well for a good balanced approach to our
assignments. Where we each might come at a problem from a different perspective, we view this
as a positive vs. a negative. Everyone on this team will value each other’s opinions.
Communication Expectations
As far as communication expectations, Team 1 members will check the discussion boards
once daily at a minimum. During key times, it might be necessary to check the discussions more
frequently if the team members are able. The discussions boards will be our primary form of
communication. It is not anticipated that online chats will be necessary. In the event that
something out of the ordinary comes up, the team leader can make a decision to schedule an
online chat session.
Behavioral Expectations
As a team we are committed to showing respect to one another. Mutual respect and
cooperation will lead to a successful final project and will make this a memorable experience. A
lack of respect and a lack of communication can threaten the outcome of this project. It is
expected that team 1 will demonstrate transparency and honestly in all interaction. Everyone on
team 1 is committed to behaving in a way that ensures our success.
Flexibility Expectations
Team 1 commits to being flexible and is willing to extend grace to other team members
when necessary. We acknowledge that things come up, and life can throw us curve balls. In a
situation where something comes up, it is expected that we would share any issues with the
group via the group discussion board as soon as possible. Not only will this ensure we are able
to assist when possible, but we can come together and stand in the gap for those in need with
prayer and support. We commit to help one another out in these situations. We acknowledge
that we all have different work schedules and commitments, but we commit to having our
assignments submitted on time.
Performance Expectations
Team 1 is committed to working at a level consistent with, and strive for an “A” as a final
grade for our project. While we acknowledge that many discussion posts can be of a casual
nature, we commit to ensuring that all assignments submitted for a grade will be of the quality
expected of a Masters level student and be in APA format. We take a tremendous amount of
pride in our work and wish to be known as a team committed to excellence.
Timeliness
Team 1 commits to being on time with all assignments and will do our best to submit
work early when our schedules permit. We will work hard to meet any deadlines our team leader
imposes and commit to timely communication in the event there is something which might
prevent us from meeting a deadline. We acknowledge that being on time means just that. If an
assignment is due at 11:59pm, on time means that it is submitted at that time or earlier. At no
time is it ok for an assignment to be late unless the team and professor is notified of extenuating
circumstances in advance of the deadline.
Final Submission
The final submission of our project will be made available to every team member prior to
its due date. Considering the different schedules of team members, it will not be necessary for
everyone to respond with an “I Approve” prior to the submission deadline. Failure to reply to the
final draft by the deadline set by the team leader constitutes acceptance of the final draft. The
final draft will be made available to all team members at least 48 hours prior to the submission
deadline.
Conflict Resolution
The team acknowledges that, when necessary, we can solve most every issue with good
communication, extending grace and understanding. The Bible is clear when it comes to conflict
among God’s people. “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of
you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and
the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10 ESV).
