Information Systems and Key Technologies in Healthcare
Introduction
In the United States, numerous policies have been developed focused on improving the
overall levels of concern the main stakeholder’s exhibit when considering technological
advancements. Advancements in technology have offered the country the ideal approach for
coordinating the tasks carried out within the healthcare sector while ensuring maximum returns
for the underlying consumers. One of the main issues that continue to be witnessed across the
global platform is adopting technology to foster healthcare operations. By adopting such
technologies, it has been easy and possible to foster better returns that the various countries
report concerning dealing with patient needs and demands. When considering adopting the right
technologies, it is possible to redefine the role played by such improvements on patient health.
However, numerous concerns have been witnessed and recorded concerning the continued health
information systems adoption and patient health. One of the main issues which continue to be
witnessed within the country focus more on the overall engagement of the main stakeholders and
delivering value according to consumer needs (Zhuang et al. 2020).
One of the main issues that have been witnessed across the country reflects the adoption
of health information exchange solutions focused more on consumer and community benefits.
Different states have adopted these systems focused on boosting their insight into patient health
outcomes. Through the adoption processes, states have increased the ability to deal with the
arising community needs according to the prevailing regulations and requirements. On the same
note, it is worth noting that the adoption associated with such technologies is essential for
promoting health outcomes and insight into population needs. This section discusses the current
state of adoption of HIE solutions through the grant program established in 2010. The program

has offered a chance to increase awareness of technology's role in facilitating patient-oriented
care by improving information flow within the healthcare systems both internally and externally.
Understanding the role of such technologies and efforts is essential for improving the overall
success achieved when dealing with the overall connection with patients and the community
from a health perspective.
Analysis
Meaningful use of information technology in the healthcare sector reflects on the abilities
to maintain the intended measures and practices considering the initially set goals and objectives.
When considering the US healthcare systems, numerous developments have been offered to
improve the overall abilities to deliver value to patients. Patient-centric care has been supported
through various initiatives such as the use of technologies and others. one of the most common
issues that continue to influence the decisions made within the country`s healthcare sector is
related to adopting the latest technologies and using them to benefit patients. On the same note, it
is worth noting that the healthcare sector's overall success when it comes to utilizing technology
is based on the alignment to the arising consumer needs and demands.
Alabama is one of the areas which have been awarded the offered grants focused on
boosting its Medicaid policy and agency. The award, which amounts to $10,564,789, creates a
framework for improved operational efficiency while fostering insurance coverage for the low
income earning and a minority within the community (Benefits.gov, n.d.). The success
associated with this grant is based on the extension of care coverage to the respective populations
based on the arising needs and demands.

On the same note, it is worth noting that the grant offers a chance for exploring some of
the challenges the minority and low income earning people in Alabama face from a health
dimension. With the grant, it is possible to redefine healthcare coverage for the older and needy
within the community. Alabama Medicaid is one of the insurance coverage programs offered in
response to the low income earning and needy people in the state and community. The program
is supported through the federal, state and county. Further, this program has been considered as
one of the biggest to offer Medicaid services and interventions to the needy and low income
earning people in Alabama.
These populations include children, the blind, the disabled and those eligible for federally
based income management payment benefits. This program has offered the ultimate framework
for achieving the desired goals when it comes to managing health and insurance coverage for the
underlying community. Through the program, the community has maintained a positive response
towards health improvements based on its support.
The award offered has created a framework for improving the connection between the
care providers and beneficiaries through effective monitoring, tracking and coordination
(HealthIT.gov, n.d.). On the same note, the grant has offered a framework for boosting the
overall relationships between the populations and the care providers. In addition, it is worth
noting that the overall success achieved in dealing with the population has been influenced by
engagement with the various health stakeholders while utilizing respective technologies.
Adopting the underlying technologies helps improve the overall community health and
wellness. These technologies are focused on boosting community health which is in line with the
biblical teachings. The teachings offered in Proverbs 10:17, MSG, offer guidance on the
importance of keeping healthy. This book claims that "The road to life is a disciplined life;

ignore correction, and you are lost for good" (Proverbs 10:17). Additionally, it is worth noting
that using the right interventions is based on sustaining the overall behavior associated with
medical practitioners and the solutions used. The program mentioned above has offered a
framework for improving collaboration and insight into patient needs while promoting security,
safety and community-oriented approaches when delivering care. Using this framework, it is
possible to redefine patient needs while promoting awareness about the arising consumer
demands and needs hence achieving the ideal goals. The technologies offered through health
information exchange focus on mobilizing patient records sharing them according to the arising
practice needs. Gaining access to this information is beneficial for practitioners since it fosters
decisions made according to the community setting's rising demands.
