Communication Foundations and Communication Analysis
The team development process is reflective as some teams proceed through the
different stages, from forming to norming and performing well, while others have great
difficulty leaving the stage adjourning. My observation shows one common obstacle in the
2
team: proper communication foundations. It is tough to achieve consistency and progress
towards the performance stage when team members fail to set goals, define roles, and create
mutual expectations. To counteract this, teams should work on transparency in
communication, including opening up the guidelines and building a trusting culture.
Nonverbal signs and cues in business communication relay mostly emotions of
individuals' attitudes and intentions through the messages departed. Failure to respond in line
with nonverbal signals can cause misinterpretations and limit successful working together. As
for me, it is critical to consider nonverbal meanings because they bring more information
about the actual verbal communication. For instance, the body language of a fellow coworker
during the presentation shows whether he or she is enthusiastic about it or reluctant, thus
affecting my translation.
The ability to listen demands focused concentration. Eliminating negative listening
styles helps to improve communication because stopped, interrupted and automatically
assumed conversation is a huge failure (Friston et al., 2021). Active listening builds better
human relationships, fosters teamwork, as well as solves problems. In my routine lifestyle, I
remove distractions, observe eye contact and condense information to guarantee that I am
focused on a conversation.
Diversity in culture may significantly influence a career by impacting work dynamics,
decision-making procedures, and communication methods (Darby, 2022). I am proactive in
taking culture-awareness training regularly and actively participate in frequent open
discussions concerning the differences between cultures, cultivating an environment with
cultural diversity of contributions whereby diverse perspectives are appreciated. Technology
channels may be the wrong choice in some business communication, especially where
information is being shared. For delicate issues such as employee terminations, complicated
bargaining or when bad news must be delivered face to face, action provides an opportunity
for sympathy and instant clarification.

In conclusion, the development of successful teamwork is an understanding of
nonverbal cues and aspects of communication in business, which can result from listening
skills, navigating cultural diversity, and choosing appropriate channels.
