1.0 Introduction
Inclusive leadership presents a better leadership application and fundamentally an
enlargement of administrative management. Diversity and the practice of inclusion in the
workplace concentrate on the values for everyone (Ferdman et al., 2014). It transfers the
emphasis from inequity and affirmative action to inequality, non - discrimination, impartiality,
and the program's use of diversity impacts. Inclusion is referred to as by Ferdman (2010): "In its
broadest meaning, inclusion entails both permitting other people to be entirely individuals and
enabling themselves to be ultimately themselves in the framework of partaking in mutual values.
1.1 Background of the study
Globalization's impacts on community, economy, and governance have significantly
impacted workplace demography. Diversity management is entering a new phase. Globalization
has had a profound influence on government, commerce, and community, which has had a
significant impact on workplace demography. Globalization increases the diversity of the
workforce and the pool of business connections, both of which pave the way for quicker and
more significant social trends. Additionally, organizations now have more excellent resources,
thanks to globalization, increasing their ability to effect change. Organizations must manage
cultural exchange diversity among their employees as a remarkable success. Due to these
modifications, large and small enterprises must establish new employee rules and guidelines
(Murphy & W, 2018). In a global workplace, due to variety, we lead, collaborate, and understand
across nationalities more successfully; inclusion fosters an atmosphere where each person can
present their whole self to the table and fully participate in the company's growth.
1.2. Proposal Objectives
3
The objectives of this proposal remains with establishing what encourages equity and
fairness in a workplace and also to promote the knowledge of understanding the unique traditions
and ethnic heritage.
1.3 Problem Statement
Whereas the purpose of this classifies inclusive leadership concerning the position as a
model structure, it is applicable to connect the implementation to the present administration.
Researches display special force in the leadership theory's supreme and few dominant directives.
Mainly, it presents the dominant aspect as a technique that discusses personal team and
institutional productivity results by identifying and exploring particular leadership features
concerning the relationship with the management. The relationship-based aspect is the reciprocal
social transformations between administrators and the various partners in the workplace (Ng et
al., 2017). The purpose of the proposal will find out about nurturing, collective and cooperative
perspectives around the diversity and inclusivity in the organization. Relationship-based
administration's viewpoints are more of involvement, cooperation, followers' aspirations,
inclusivity, and subliminal management styles and are more process- and situation. Inclusive
leadership is firmly rooted in the less-prevalent, partnership, companion school of thought.
1.4 Significance
By blending different groups of thought, employee engagement develops good thoughts
and actions, being responsible, and creates higher happiness. Businesses that operate well
profitably are built on several organizational components that multiculturalism strengthens.
Primarily inclusive workplaces are featured with cooperativeness, teamwork, constructive,
multicultural that depends on understanding and respect, community in order, standpoint
4
significant majority alongside numerous different viewpoints and evaluation of discrepancy. It
contrasts with exclusionary workplace environments, where people or groups are required to
strictly adhere to pre-determined "mainstream" worldviews and methods of action. Other studies
explain inclusion as operating at a micro-scale within the institution; however, in addition to
enclosing persons, teams, and institutional methodologies through the expanded macro levels
external of the institution. These include other contributors, community members, traditions,
societies, and even countries (Casad et al., 2016).
Research Question
I. What is the relationship between workforce diversity and enhanced organizational
performance or productivity?
II. What is the relationship between workforce diversity and improved customer service?
III. What are the overall opinions of co-workers regarding interracial work teams?
2.1 Literature Review
Several research studies have demonstrated that culturally diverse labor forces may boost
a team's and a company's innovation. By putting together people from various backgrounds, it
will see a more diversified set of answers to problems and approaches to projects. Critically, it
involves cooperating so that every institution may be wholly attached and contained. Further,
and in the same way, it contradicts with no accommodation, hidden or offered any area of
themselves. Hence, persons practicing inclusion in a team or institution must be ultimately part
of the entire, with awareness of legitimacy and particularity (Romansky et al., 2021). By
addressing barriers that lead to marginalization and exclusion, employee engagement expands
our understanding beyond integration methods or institutional demographics to empower and
5
participate. Specific abilities and competencies consistent with global cooperation, fostering
inclusiveness for others, developing comprehensive work environments and occupational groups,
alliances and negotiation and compromise, and genuine participation are required for inclusive
leadership.
Variety and inclusion will improve the proportion of perspectives and viewpoints in any
context. Different views will be accepted in a harmonious society, reducing prejudice against
diversity. A unified world might also enhance the community's optimum amount of cultural
competence. For individuals to maintain their dignity, sense of security, and a chance at a better
life, they must be included in society. It has been repeatedly demonstrated how crucial it is to
support people in a sense linked to and appreciated by the community and to address any kind of
social isolation that persons may be dealing with on a regular daily basis. The support work best
on individuals with various viewpoints, educational and professional identities, political and
religious convictions, sexual preferences, ethnic backgrounds, and life experiences. A large
group of individuals from different nationalities and civilizations coexist in one place while
pursuing similar objectives.
The inclusive working environment is presented by several issues, including values and
applying individual and intergroup variation inside its labor force. Another one is the
collaborative nature and its involvement with its surrounding population and mitigation of the
requirements of special teams in its larger surrounding. Again, cooperatives with persons,
groups, and institutions in the national and traditional territories. A heritage of inclusion can be
consolidated into the organization's strategy, vision, approaches, policy proposals, frameworks,
and mechanisms, together with its leadership practices. This is accomplished by incorporating
inclusion into all aspects of the employee's performance and layout. Thus, it is crucial to
6
establish processes that hold employees accountable for attaining inclusion objectives and
preserving inclusion ideals, especially in administration. To maintain that engagement remains
entrenched, it is crucial to continuously monitor and assess the inclusion-valuing society once it
has been formed and ingrained.
All individuals from various cultures will feel valued, acknowledged, and appreciated in
an inclusive atmosphere. Diverse functional, inclusive workplaces where "equal opportunity,
equality, and participate fully are upheld on the corporate and system level" (Daya & P,2014).
Conclusion
The present leadership thoughts, development, and diversity have all transformed from a
leader and human asset to an additional focus on the social investment, connections, and
inclusivity connected to several structures. The significant variations between cultural and
minimal inclusive institutional-based points remain at the center stage. Inclusivity in institutions
requires leadership training to be directed around administering the values, behavior standards,
administrative policy, and processes that should reflect the concepts and procedures stated in the
column to the right, "Inclusive Relational-Based Leadership," as witnessed within the structures
and methodologies working in an organization. Inclusive leadership abilities required by
conventional leader-focused leadership behavior, which highlight the leader's interpersonal or
interpersonal identification, are more sophisticated than those required for collective consistency
around the globe. They are also harder to cultivate and master.

PROJECT PROPOSAL 2
Project Proposal
The greatest promise of the internet is to make global information universally accessible
and meaningful. Many businesses leverage the internet's value to reach their potential clients and
advance their strategic goals. Advancement in this technology has facilitated business
development in e-commerce through websites. However, not all entities utilize the internet's full
potential, like human-computer interaction. An example of such a business is Craigslist. The
company operates in the marketing and advertising industry. The following research proposal
describes Craigslist in detail by identifying the company's prevailing problem and opportunity
areas. The proposal also identifies a poorly designed Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and its
potential users.
Company Description
Craigslist is a web-based company with operations in many parts of the world. It has
diverse product lines, including real estate advertisements, jobs, discussion communities,
automobiles, and online dating (Eve, 2020). The primary business idea for the company is free
advertisement to providers and seekers (customers) with few exemptions for those in need of
premium services. Craigslist has consistently ranked among the top twenty most visited websites
in the U.S. and the 118th globally, with an estimated 50 billion visits monthly (Eve, 2020).
Advertisers can list anything they offer with the option of attaching images. Seekers of the
products or the services can link up with the advertisers to complete transactions.
Opportunity Statement
Craigslist's unmet business technology need is a poor website design that gives the
company outdated and lowly navigable features. These two problems are the issues that the
PROJECT PROPOSAL 3
proposed HCI will attempt to solve. Craigslist was established decades ago, and no significant
changes have been made to the company’s platform. Despite ranking highly among the most
visited sites and reaching out to many visitors worldwide, the company does not have any logo, a
banner, or a picture on its platform. It primarily utilizes minimalist design. This implies a simple
site, using only text to make it attractive and serve the intended purpose of a specific visitors’
niche (Roddy et al., 2020). However, such a modern design may not be considered visually
appealing since it has given the company a similar outlook since its inception. The link-based
structure is not user-friendly, although it is the main business idea for the company.
Craigslist can be viewed as a collection of smaller websites held on its primary domain.
Each small website is a sub-domain with an actual location and a board of classifieds. The entire
site comprises more than five hundred parts of the world (Snell, 2009). The simplicity of the web
page, coupled with its size, maximizes compound navigation issues. For example, the site lacks a
navigation menu; some pages use a left sidebar, while others lack even this simple feature
(Eriksson & Ferwerda, 2019). Many secondary pages have significant empty screen spaces with
fewer navigation options. The drawback pushes users without options apart from going back to
other website sections.
Craigslist's website's navigability and visual appeal need to be fixed to make the company
competitive and improve its efficiency and revenue. A visually appealing and navigable platform
contributes to a positive user experience as a key brand differentiator (Choi & Tulu, 2017). It can
make Craigslist’s visitors feel more comfortable by utilizing the application, paving the way for
the attraction of new customers and guaranteeing increased sales. This enhances and maximizes
customer engagement and retention by avoiding users’ frustrations and supporting them to
continue with the engagement with the platform. Including visual appeals on the website will
PROJECT PROPOSAL 4
make it easily identifiable, thus promoting brand loyalty (Roddy et al., 2020). The two features
will also increase Craigslist’s productivity by making the platform more users friendly. When
visitors can navigate the platform easily, their search time reduces, leading to faster and better
fulfilling of their needs. This improvement can result in the company’s productivity for the brand
and users.
The primary reason for fixing the problem is to improve Craigslist’s human-like
interaction with users through computerized devices like computers, tablets, and smartphones.
The improvement intends to make the company accessible to users by making their experience
with the technology as personal as possible. The commands that users input into the devices
enable them to engage with the interface in familiar and personalized ways. However, Craigslist
lacks features like easy navigation and visual appeal that facilitate this interaction, prompting the
need for a remedy.
Purpose Statement
The management of Craigslist emphasizes the philosophy of consistency over innovation,
which makes the company’s HCI consistent but hurts its business competitiveness and
sustainability. Reinventing the company by embracing innovation through better HCI designs
that make its web navigable and visually appealing can solve these challenges and equip the
company to leverage its current market position, increase its business value, and sustainable
growth.
The information system intended to be fixed is the transaction processing system (TPS).
The system captures all the functions related to a web's daily business operations (Faisal & Nusa,
2020). It manages daily activities like visitors’ traffic on a site and how the interactions between
PROJECT PROPOSAL 5
humans and the site (Jones et al., n.d). This information system processes data from human-
computer interaction on a site and offers an execution environment that supports information
availability, integrity, and security.
The primary service offered by the webpage is to link sellers and buyers of goods and
services listed on Craigslist. The webpage will allow people to connect easily with others near
them for business transactions like buying and selling services and social functions like physical
dating. It achieves this through filter options for users based on their preferred regions.
Project Description
A selected poorly designed HCI web interface is the Craigslist app accessed through
Google Play or Apple Store. Some noticeable feature is the navigation on the app. It has a lot of
items and pages that give it a disheveled appearance. Users must go through many pages and
steps to get the desired item. This feature is typical to webs with voluminous content since
categorizing all the items is challenging.
Another noticeable feature on the web is accessibility. Signing up and logging in to the
app seems more difficult than in many applications. The app has about 5 million downloads on
Google Play, meaning it has a backlog of users’ data. Therefore, creating an account, managing
it, and logging in are tedious activities occasioned by unnecessary clicks required to make the
pages responsive.
Users Identification
Craigslist users are people who offer products and services and seekers. They include
companies and individuals offering jobs, job seekers, real estate agents, house seekers, insurance
PROJECT PROPOSAL 6
marketers, automobiles, and service providers like child care and those in need of these goods.
Other categories of users include people looking for online dates from all over the world. The
most urgent user users’ requirement that Craigslist should consider is the navigability of its
platform. It should include a clearly defined menu to guide users visiting its different items and
pages. The target audience for this project proposal is Craigslist’s management. The project
intends to outline the limitations that the current HCI has on the company and recommend
potential improvement areas. The project also highlights the business value of improving the
company’s HCI.
Reasons for Choosing Craigslist
Craigslist is chosen for this project proposal due to its unique features. Firstly, since the
company’s inception in 1995, it has recorded insignificant changes despite significant
technological changes today (Eve, 2020). It has a presence in over 700 markets but is served by
less than a hundred staff that generated average revenue of $ 1 billion since 2017 (Eve, 2020).
Despite these features, Craigslist ranks among the poorly designed websites with the high visitor
traffic. The company can become more competitive with appropriate adjustments and rank even
better in the advertising industry.
Conclusion
Craigslist has an opportunity to reinvent its brand by embracing innovation on its HCI.
The company can improve the webpage by making it more navigable and visually appealing to
visitors. These changes may not lead to an overhaul of the company’s HCI but can result in
significant competitive advantages for the company.
