FUNCTIONS OF
MANAGEMENT
•There are Four Major Functions of
Management, which includes the
following:
Planning: A detailed action plan that
a CEO, Supervisor, Leader, etc. sets
in place to identify goals within the
organization and create an
appropriate course of action. In
management there are three
different types of planning.
Strategic Planning: which is a long
term, high-level type of foundational
planning that emphasizes the value,
mission, and vision of the
organization.
Tactical: A short-term, objective-
focused type of planning, often
carried out by middle management.
Operational: A plan that describes
the daily roadmap of the activities
within the company.

TRUST
•Trust is a major factor within an organization. As a leader
you want your team members to be able to communicate
and trust you. Trust is the willingness of a party to be
vulnerable to the actions of another party based on the
expectation that the other will perform a particular action
important to the trustor, irrespective of the ability to
monitor or control that other part as a positive expectation
that another will not act opportunistically. (Satterlee, 2018).
According to Kouzes and Posner, in The Leadership
Challenge there are five known dimensions of trust:
Integrity: This step requires one to be honest and
trustworthy towards others. This is the most important
of the five dimensions, because employees like to know
that they can trust their leaders.
Competence: training skills that a person has and
knows how to apply them to perform in an organization.
Consistency: correlation between what a leader says a
what a leader does and the uniformity of those actions.
(Satterlee, 2018)
Loyalty: willingness to remain faithful to those around
you.
Openness: communicating openly as a leader with any
hidden ill intent.

behaviors utilized by managers
to motivate employees to work
effectively and demonstrate
commitment to the organization
goals , this theory became
popular back in the early 1930s

traced back to the 1800s.

competitors.

and who will use the information to

organization are taking action to
complete the tasks provided to them.
