This study highlights how in years prior, research regarding innovation was
consistently correlated with other factors such as a firm’s size, number of employees, and
age. The researchers highlighted the recent shift in thinking on connecting employees'
diversity to technological innovation. Furthermore, the article studies how educational
diversity helps a firm’s innovation by having people with different skill sets and
education levels to help firms be more competitive. The positive research shows that
organizations that undergo numerous technological innovation activities benefit from
diversity. They conclude that employers should strive to have their human resources
departments hire employees within internal and external research and development
methodologies.
This article is relevant to workplace diversity by showing the benefits of having
various educational and research backgrounds to fill any knowledge gaps organizations
may have. The authors are Alejandro Bello-Pintado , who has a Ph.D. and is a professor
