RST Carports and Metal Roofing
RST Carports is a private Midwest small business company founded in 1980. The
company, located in Albany, Indiana, initially produced and installed four carports, gradually
increasing to 48 versions over the years. In 2000, the business ventured into the metal roofing
business; they began manufacturing and installing 18 varieties of metal roofing from the same
facility in Albany. The company was profitable from 1981 to 2017, only losing money in its
initial year of existence. In July 2017, Jerry Jones, the President and private owner of the very
successful business, sold the company to WXY Corporation, a significant competitor, for
$60.8M. WXY elected a new Divisional Manager from its corporate office, Art Anderson, to
replace Jerry Jones the week after the sale. Anderson brought in a WXY SWOT team to assess
the RST management and its employees and review its methods of operation. Anderson, after the
evaluation, began implementing changes in areas based on the SWOT analysis. RST was once a
stable, profitable company making at least 8+ million in profits in the last eight years of Jones’s
tenure. However, during the first three years since the Anderson takeover, RST has trended
negatively, with a heaping 2.3 million loss in the first few months of 2020. Finally, after the first
four months of 2020, the CEO of WXY hired W2 Solutions Consulting Company to go into the
