PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT 2
Abstract
Businesses today have been investing their efforts into understanding how organizational
behavior can affect the success of their companies; it impacts how an organization performs or
operates. Through conducting online assessments such as the Myers-Briggs personality test,
companies can see what motivates individuals and how their strengths and weaknesses can be
utilized to make cohesive team environments. Through my own personal results as an extrovert,
intuitive, feeling, and judging (ENFJ) individual, I can invest and market myself in a manner that
will utilize my strengths to aid in my companys progression. This paper provides the deep
understanding of my personality type, how I can incorporate my strengths, leverage my
weaknesses, and make a lasting impact on my personal life and professional career.

Personality Assessment Assignment Step 1
The Four-Letter ENFJ “The Teachers = The Two-Letter Temperament NF “The Idealist”
E - Extravert (19%)
After observing the results from my Jung Typology Test, I have a slight preference of
extroversion over my introversion, in that I expel my energy to engage with the world but crave
the alone time in order recover my energy properly (Humanmetrics Inc., 1998–2022). My
communication skills enable me to flourish in a social setting that allows me to engage in
common ground with any individual that I encounter in my job. I am a Logistics Management
Specialist for the government and my time is spent with numerous Individual Product Teams
(IPTs), (Engineering, Finance, Program Managers, etc.) navigating how each team member is
motivated. We all support the same common goal but understanding how everyone on a team is
motivated helps me tailor my approach to gaining the information I need. According to BSM
Consulting, because ENFJ's people skills are so extraordinary, they have the ability to make
people do exactly what they want them to do” (1998–2015). My inherent ability to relate well
with others allows me to use my extroverted personality to collaborate openly within my IPT,
and ultimately influence their decisions.
However, while I thrive in social settings (19% extroversion), I still crave the alone time
to recharge as an introvert. If my thoughts are not in the correct head space, I become the hardest
critic of myself. ENFJ's are so externally focused that it's especially important for them to spend
time alone. This can be difficult for some ENFJs, because they have the tendency to be hard on
themselves and turn to dark thoughts when alone (BSM Consulting, Inc., 1998–2015). This
weakness of mine can become debilitating and make it hard to motivate myself, but it does not
stop me from working towards having stronger emotional intelligence. Surrounding myself with

the right friends allows me to combat this tendency, while leveraging my strengths to create a
positive outlook of myself.
N - iNtuitive (1%)
My markers indicated that I am very close to both intuition and sensing, which I can see
how I implement both in the workplace. A far as intuition, when my team is working towards a
goal, a strength of mine is to identify how I can motivate even during the most mundane tasks.
According to Kroeger et al, their (ENFJ) iNtuition tends to keep them enthusiastic, even when
the task may be somewhat dull or routine (2002). By recognizing tasks can be monotonous, but
motivating and supporting my team through those tasks, ultimately improves moral. However, I
am able to recognize that there is a the time and place to deliver those positive and enthusiastic
messages; understanding this helps me in gaining the trust with my team.
My sensing comes into play when I feel that some tasks or processes do not always need
to change or be fixed. That is why I do challenge the idea of, If it ain’t broke, dont fix it; you
don’t understand why some people have to try to improve everything” (Kroeger et al., 2002).
This type of approach contradicts my Six Sigma process mindset which teaches that anything can
be improved with the right resources. However, when my personality observes an unbroken
process that achieves great results, I wonder why someone would change something that could
hurt the business or team. This does narrow my mindset at times by getting wrapped up in the
day-to-day tasks and I forget to look at the bigger picture.
F - Feeling (22%)
Being an ENFJ in the workplace with a strong connection to my feelings, raises a lot of
benefits but also challenges my personality type, as I can relate well to others and become
sympathetic into their daily struggles or lives. Kroeger et. al. (2002) states that ENFJs enjoy

providing needed services to people although you find that some people take advantage of you.”
This need to put others before myself can lead to some negative consequences; however, I am
not blind to this imperfection. On the positive side, I establish trust with those who truly need
that empathetic touch within my teams, which allows me to create a strong bond that other
managers wish they had on their teams.
However, when creating this feeling type of environment, it does create a dichotomy for a
male such as myself in the workforce. As mentioned by Kroeger et. al. in Type Talk at Work
(2002), the struggles of all Feeling-type (ENFJ) males in the workplace; being perceived as
tenderhearted, nurturing, and even wimpy…and risking being labeled as effeminate.” This does
create at times an issue of being seen as soft from my managers or having an inadequacy to
making the difficult decisions. I do however try to see the positive side of this trait and leverage
my warm and empathetic approach with my team, which can then create a solid foundation that
can allow my team to speak freely without fear of judgement.
J - Judging (41%)
While exploring my time in the military as I continue to serve in the Army/Air Force, my
militaristic approach to order is a personality trait that I have come by honestly. When
implementing a packing list or presenting a brief, the need to have a place for everything and
aren’t satisfied until everything is in its place is a real struggle but also an ideal strength
(Kroeger et al., 2002). In this world, I can see how order amongst the chaos can put my teams
mind at ease. While harnessing my other attributes in my personality this creates a sense of
security while I can motivate those around me.
ENFJ NF: The Protagonist & The Idealist
Since taking this personality test, I have been able to identify strengths and weaknesses

that allow me to adapt to what each team member needs from me depending on the task. While I
progressed through analyzing my personality assessment, my strengths include, accomplishing
tasks by a deadline, managing the fine details that come with the projects, and implementing the
changes that have a prevailing vision or greatest potential in the process (Humanmetrics Inc.,
1998–2022).
While I leverage my unique traits, I still struggle wondering if my team is gaining what
they need from our meetings, and how I can support their endeavors. I have always put the needs
of others ahead of myself, as I wish to support each team member because I genuinely see their
growth potential. BSM Consulting states, it's natural to (ENFJs) personality type that they will
tend to place other people's needs above their own, but they need to stay aware of their own
needs so that they don't sacrifice themselves in their drive to help others (1998–2015). This has
created a rift in my personal life where I neglect my own aspirations to help all others achieve
their goals. I have taken time to become more selfish in my pursuit of higher education so that
my professional career goals match my educational levels.
The need to put others before myself does have advantages when investing that energy
into close intimate relationships. When an ENFJ such as myself has their cup filled with the
energy of a close relationship it can bring forth a balance that can carry into my professional life.
BSM Consulting says that intimate relationships for ENFJs, have a strong need for close,
intimate relationships, and will put forth a lot of effort in creating and maintaining these
relationships. They're very loyal and trustworthy once involved in a relationship (1998–2015).
When an ENFJ such as I, has my social cup filled, I have my intimate relationship needs met, my
alone time to recharge, and I feel validated for what I have accomplished; I have the ability to
focus on what life has challenged me with and I am able to put forth my best effort to experience

what the future has instore.
Personality Assessment Assignment Step 2
What have you learned from these personality tests about organizational behavior?
The personality test has shown how my ENFJ personality can garner the attention of
those around me. We are all surrounded with 16 different personality types (some more than
others) but how we get others involved in groups or work projects takes a great deal of energy.
As an ENFJ, employee engagement is crucial because the harnessing of organization members
selves to their work roles; in engagement, people employ and express themselves physically,
cognitively, and emotionally during role performance (Kinicki, A., 2020). This creates an
environment where people can gravitate to their leaders who are more engaged and support them
in their endeavors and can receive constructive feedback in a timely manner about their
performance (Kinicki, A. 2020).
With this growth, I utilized this pragmatic approach by devoting my time and efforts into
building relationships by implementing an open-door policy. Creating that warm and inviting
atmosphere that my team will experience. As an ENFJ, Face-to-face relationships are intense,
personable and warm, though they may be so infrequently achieved that intimate friendships are
rare (Humanmetrics Inc., 1998–2022). This type of approach has allowed me to create trust,
empathize with my team, and relate to any type of demographic. This has allowed me to build a
stronger team that believes in the projects we do but keep the relationship of manager and
employee still in balance.
What have you learned about yourself from this personality test?
I have taken these tests before under different websites and I have always been under the
impression that I was an ISFJ The Nurturer.” This evaluation was taken over 15 years ago when
PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT 8
I was very young in my professional career. I have seen how my experiences have evolved over
the years when I worked under nurturing leadership that invested into development. The best
feedback I was provided from a superior was that I needed to be more direct with my
communication and not use 15 words when 5 words will do. Using this constructive feedback
and intentional involvement to better my development, I have seen myself evolve from an
introverted and feeling personality type into a dynamic extroverted personality. My manager
created a positive organizational behavior practice that fostered an atmosphere where I could
receive this feedback in a motivational and positive instructional environment (Kinicki, A.,
2020). I realized I could create the same environment in my work teams and create a straight-
forward and honest team atmosphere (BSM Consulting, Inc., 1998–2015). I invested in my
newer skills by becoming a more self-aware coworker/manager in my professional career. This
resulted in my understanding that I was truly an ENFJ and thrived on living externally focused
by helping people become the very best versions of themselves.
However, this approach had to change when COVID started; my communication
approach had to change during a digital environment. The sense of belongingness to a group
during telework with groups of people and having a positive impact on their development and
growth has had to evolve as well (Liu.Y et al., 2022). This became such a positive impact on my
team engagement because as ENFJ, I realized that the alone time was needed. BSM Consulting
supports this by stating ENFJs are so externally focused that it's especially important for them
to spend time alone (1998–2015). I could provide the best interpersonal skills to my IPTs and
still recharge from extraverted engagements. The learning experiences from this new
environment sparked my desire to be an inspiring force for change.
