Running Head: PERSONALITY ANALYSIS
Abstract
After completing the Jung Typology test, I found that my personality type is INTJ (Introvert,
Intuitive, Thinking, Judging). Each letter has a meaning and a certain percentage that is assigned
in regards to the relativeness of each aspect of the personality. In addition to the four-letter type,
each personality type is assigned a two-letter temperament. Each of these letters in combination
has a meaning that is accociated with certain manners of behavior and tendancies. From the
“Worldview Perspective on Organizational Behavior” presentation, the idea of a biblical
worldview and how it relates to our organizational behavior and our personalities is defined.
Lastly, Kroeger and Thuesen’s book, Type Talk at Work, explores the 16 personality types that
lead to success in the work place, and how they relate and intertwine with each other.

Personality Analysis
After completing thee Myers-Briggs Personality test I discovered that my four letter-type
is INTJ. According to the test my personality type broken down is 37% Introverted, 3% Intuitive,
3% Thinking, and 12% Judging. The personality type of INTJ is commonly associated with
being a perfectionist, but also having the ability to think independently as well. According to the
Myers-Briggs test individuals with the INTJ personality type can often be self-confident, but this
can sometimes come across as arrogance. INTJ personality types tend to also be very certain
about what they have knowledge of and what they do not, and they are able to determine the
extent of their knowledge very quickly. Further, my two-letter temperament that the assessment
revealed is NT or “The Rationals”, and specificially the personality type INTJ’s are known as
“The Masterminds”.
Introvert
After completing the Jung Typology test and discovering my personality type, INTJ, it
was realy interesting to read through the description and be able to indentify with specific
behaviors or tendancies related to the four different categories. Specifically when it comes to
being introverted, I can definitely see those qualities in my personality. Ive always been a pretty
introverted person and was very shy growing up, but not to an extreme sense. I think one of the
major reasons for my introvertedness, especially towards those that were not in my family, was
the fact that I am a twin. I think this aided in my introverted side because growing up I already
had a built in best friend, and because of that I didn’t always feel the need to step outside my
comfort zone in order to make new friends. However, in the last year that has changed a lot
because my sister and I have both gotten married, and we now live on different sides of the
country. Its been a major adjustment for me especially, but its been such a good experience as

well because I’ve gotten to develop my independence as an individual instead of constantly
being refered to as “the twins” I get to just be Rebekah.
After reading through the description of the INTJ personality type a few things stuck out
to me because they are things I specifically find myself doing. One of those tendancies is that at
work I tend to notice individuals that are not as motivated in their work or who are "slacking”, as
the Jung Typoloty test states, and I tend to lose respect for those individuals. Ive noticed it pretty
often lately in myself, but I think it can a positive thing if I make it that way. If focus on it as an
opportunity for me to maybe motivate those individuals it can become a positive aspect of my
personality, and I think it’s a great leadership skill to have to be able to motivate those around
you towards a goal.
Intuitive
According to the test I received a very marginal percentage for intuitiveness, and that
means I could be a combination of other personaliy types. However, personaly I feel that I can be
very intuitive especially in my work place. My job specifically requires a certain level of
intuitiveness and judgement, because it requires me to make decisions based on sometimes a
minimal amount of information that is provided. Ive gotten feedback from my coordinators that
I have been pretty successful in that area of my job, and it is evident that I am able to be intuitive
and use common senese to problem solve on my own. Obviously I am not perfect, but I can
definitely see these qualities in my personality.
Thinking
The thinking aspect of my personality type from the test aslo seemed to be marginal
compared to other characteristics. However, after reading through Kroeger and Thuesen’s book,
Type Talk at Work, and the specific information about INTJ’s I see “thinking” qualities in my
4

personality. With my job I am required to process student’s requests to make adjustments to
their loans, and at times their requests can be very non specific and vague. It is my job to think
through each request logically to determine if the request can be worked based on the
information provided to me. Sometimes I really have to think through what the student is really
trying to do and it can be challenging, but back again I have received positive feedback that I am
able to successfully think through confusing requests and use good judgement to make a decision
(Kroeger, Thuesen 1992).
Judging
The test portrays the qualities of judging to be that of self-confidence and control. I do
not tend to think of myself as a self-confident person, because like anyone I have many
insecurities. However, after thinking through it I can see that I tend to have self confidence, but
not necessarily outwardly express it through actions. I catch myself comparing myself to others
whether it be positively or negatively, because it comes back to the whole idea of perfectionaism.
I always say I do not like doing things that I know I am not good at or that I am not sure I am
going to be good at. I think more than anything I like to be self confident in the things htat I do,
and I am not confident in the unknown.
NT or “The Rationals”
After further research from the Personality Page website it appears that my two letter
temperament is NT or also known as “The Rationals” . Keirsey describes the NT group as the
“Knowledge Seeking” group of individuals, and INTJ’s specifically as “The Masterminds”. One
thing that stood out to me about the two-letter temperament for the INTJ’s is that of high
expectations. I tend to have extremely high and sometimes unrealistic expectations of others. I
personally have high expectations for myself which I think comes into play with my biblical

worldview, because it directly relates to the standards I have for myself and others. From the
lesson one presentation Fischer states, “Our personal behavior in organizations have eternal
consequences”(Fischer Lesson 1). This statement is so true because it just means that our
behavior really does matter in the way we conduct ourselves and especially in an organizational
environment.
Organizational Role
I think overall after reading through all the material regarding my personality type there
definitely seem to be apparent strengths and weaknesses to the various tendencies associated
with INTJ’s. I think at times my introvertedness can hinder me, but it can also be an avenue for
me to develop more in order to be a better leader. I do think I have a quiet confident in my
abilities, but I can be self conscious about what I do not know. I think in general by simply
understanding the why behind the way I behave is really helpful to know, because it allows me to
get outside my own head and almost look at my behavior from an objective perspective. I think
realizing that by knowing my personality type and now being able to recognize similar traits in
others will help me to interact and communicate with my co-workers better. I think learning not
only your own type of personality but others as well is vital, because it lets you understand other
individual’s tendencies and the “why” behind what they do as well.
Personally, I found that I really tend to have very high expectations for others and I tend
to lack understanding for what I might see as “slacking” on their part. I think it will be important
for me to be willing to not judge by what I see on the surface, because I need to take the time to
understand individuals deeper in order to understand how they process things differently. I’ve
come to understand from my job that you can learn a lot from the people around you, and it is
important to try to view things from perspectives other than your own in order to grow as an

individual. From a worldview perspective I like to look at it as a platform for myself, because
instead of having high standards for others I can instead focus on being a good example and not
judging others. Learning about my personally was a very eye opening experience, and I think it
will really help me be mindful of my behavior in a work setting and how it will negatively or
positively affect those around me.
