a) Peter was questioning where Jesus lived. After revealing where He was living at that
time, Jesus was calling Simon Peter and Andrew to follow Him.

a) The Messiah-ship was revealed to Peter from the very beginning. He was also very
powerful in how He “called” them. Jesus literally changed the name of Peter.

a) Belief is the result of the conversation. Peter accepted the call, the name change, and
ultimately ended up being an incredible apostle for Christ.

a) The deity of Christ reveals itself, all we have to do is pay attention.

a) Phillip

a) The result of the conversation was Phillip following Jesus as one of His disciples. This
was definitely belief and acceptance of the teachings as Jesus as the Messiah.

and outside of the Scriptures.

John 2
Fourth Conversation (John 2:1-11)
1) Question #1: Who is Jesus talking to?
a) Mary the Mother of Jesus
2) Question #2: What is the subject of the conversation?
a) Jesus and His mother were at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. At this wedding, they ran out
of wine. Mary approached Jesus to present the issue to Him because she knew He would
fix it.

a) He Jesus has miracle working power.

a) Jesus has miracle working power and able to do anything. If His mother had to believe in
Him, then we must as well.

Fifth Conversation (John 2:12-25)
1) Question #1: Who is Jesus talking to?
a) The money changers in the temple
2) Question #2: What is the subject of the conversation?
a) He was asking why they were turning the temple into a place to take advantage of others.
3) Question #3: Does this conversation reveal something about the person (humanity/deity) of
Jesus? If so, what?
a) This reveals that Jesus is human by showing that He does get angry. However, it also
shows His divinity by also showing the relationship with the Father in that the temple
was built for God and by corrupting it, they were not only defiling the temple but
disrespecting the Father as well.

a) Jesus cleaned the people that were in the temple at that time from being there and then
they rebutted “where do you get the authority to do this?” He responded and they kept on
in their unbelief and this was ultimately fueled as part of the accusation at His
crucifixion.

a) Jesus was fully human and fully man. He experienced emotions much like we do and
reacted while defending right. Also, the holiness of the temple and ultimately the church
building should be taken in a literal since to be revered.

a) Nicodemus

a) The subject I son how Jesus is a messenger from God and testifies to the Kingdom of
God. He begins to teach salvation and repentance.

a) The revelation that comes from this set of scriptures is that Jesus is indeed from God and
how Jesus is sent from God. The context that this set of scriptures is in reveals also the
need for the saving gospel through Jesus Christ.

a) Nicodemus allowed himself to be changed by the power of Jesus and defends him in
chapter 7. He was ultimately at the tomb helping anoint for the burying of Jesus in
chapter 19.

a) The power of Christ can change anyone if they allow Him to and the legacy left can be
one that incredibly impacts others.

Seventh Conversation (John 4:1-28)

a) The conversation starts off with the simple question of asking for a drink but quickly
turns into how Jesus is the life giving water from a well that will not run dry. He
essentially presents the gospel to her and reveals to her that He is the Messiah.

a) .He knows all and nothing can be hid from Him. It also reveals the Messiah-ship of Him
in the eyes of Gentiles.

a) The woman believed and went to tell others and many believed because of her testimony.

a) Jesus wants us to worship in in truth with our heart focused on Him and His truths. He
wants us to bare our hearts when we come to Him and not just merely skim the surface
with our laundry list of things for Him to do for our selfishness.
Eighth Conversation (John 4:29-42)

a) Jesus is talking to the disciples.

a) The disciples encourage Him to eat and Jesus turns this toward the reaping and sowing of
the harvest. He then prescribes that they should be out reaping the harvest.

Tenth Conversation (John 5:12-25)

a) Jesus is talking to the Jewish leaders.

a) The conversation is on how Jesus and God are equal. Later in the conversation, He
confirms John as a messenger for God.

a) This conversation reveals the equality with God, the authority and power to perform
miracles that Jesus possesses, and the honor and right to judge that the Father has given
to Him.

Eleventh Conversation (John 6:1-15)

a) The disciples are coming to Jesus asking where they could buy food to feed the people
coming to listen to the teaching of Jesus.

too great for Him.

a) The people He had fed were now following Him wanting more. He is presenting the
Gospel to them from a material understanding by relating to what they had just eaten.

a) It reveals the deity of Christ by revealing the fact that God provides physical bread just

a) Upon explaining the truths to the people, Jesus was questioning if the twelve disciples
would want to leave too. They reply no but Jesus begins to focus towards Judas.

a) This conversation once again points to the fact that Jesus knows all and can even predict

Nineteenth Conversation (John 10:1-21)

a) Jesus is telling the Pharisees there is only one way to enter into Heaven and that is
through Him. They don’t understand this so he tells them a different way.

Twenty- First Conversation (John 15:1-27)

a) Jesus is talking to the disciples.

a) Jesus is teaching them three principles. First, we are to abide in Him and bear fruit.
Second, the world will hate the ones that follow Him but do not worry about it. Third, He
introduces more on the Holy Spirit.

John 19
Twenty- Second Conversation (John 19:12-25)
1) Question #1: Who is Jesus talking to?
a) Pilate
2) Question #2: What is the subject of the conversation?
a) Pilate was questioning if Jesus was indeed the Son of God.
3) Question #3: Does this conversation reveal something about the person (humanity/deity) of
Jesus? If so, what?
a) Jesus didn’t have to answer the questions. Either way, He knew He would be crucified
and that He would experience the pain of crucifixion as this was His mission coming to
earth. Jesus was not of this world and showed that He knew where Pilate’s authority
came from.

a) Pilate questioned Him again and ended up finding no fault in Him but due to receiving
pressure from the leaders of his day, Pilate gave Jesus over to be crucified. Pilate
believed that Jesus was who He said He was but was tormented due to his position in the
government.

a) Jesus power is greater than anything this world has to offer. The authority given to people
of our day is still subject to the authority of Jesus Christ and ultimately God the Father.
Twenty- Third Conversation (John 19:25-27)

a) Jesus knew His time was up and wanted someone to take care of His mother after His
death.
