The Natural World
The bible starts off saying that “In the beginning God created the havens and the earth”
(Gen. 1:1). From this verse tells how everything came to be. God is a supernatural being that he
has always been there. In the bible it says nothing of how God was created so this means he has
always been living. God created everything we know today the sun, the trees we use to breathe,
and the many different species of animals habituating the world. It is absolutely amazing how
God has the creativity to make everything unique and for a purpose. So when God made light on
the first day, which separated light and darkness (Gen. 1:3). This made day and night. Then God
created the skies, seas, and land. On the land he produce vegetation the vegetables and fruit we
are able to eat every day. God created animals by different species and live stock. Animals were
able to breed with the same livestock and move and function on their own. God created man in
his own image, which would rule over all creatures on earth (Gen 1:26). After everything, “God
saw all that he made, and it was very good” (Gen. 1:31). When God created the earth he made
everything for a purpose.
Human Identity
God created a Garden of Eden where he made the first man to live which he created from the
dust of the ground. God said, “Lets us make mankind in our image”, this gave them authority
over the creatures that roam the earth (Gen. 1:26). So from the beginning God gave man the
ability to rule over animals. When God created man and women he blessed them and told them
to multiply (Gen. 1:28). So this means the first humans created on earth would marry family
members to produce offspring. The first human created was Adam, which God gave him the task
to work in the garden and take care of it. This shows that God has made humans for a purpose to
have roles on earth. God gave Adam many roles like, to take care of animals, plants, and the
ability to name every animal. God only told Adam he was not allowed to do one thing, which is
to not eat from the tree of good and evil (Gen. 2:17). Also this shows that God has trust and faith
in man to follow his instructions. God also cared about man because he didn’t want Adam to be
alone so he made a companion for him. God created a female from Adam’s rib called Eve (Gen.
2:21). From the beginning it shows God really cares about man and women for all the
responsibility he gives man that he would make us in his own image. God has created us all for a
purpose for his kingdom.
Human Relationships
God created a companion for Adam, which was a female named eve. God did this so
Adam would not be alone that he would have someone to be with. God intended a man and
women to become one in flesh (Gen 2:24). This means that the two individuals will be come
like-minded with each other and produce offspring. The two are able to become one in flesh by a
child. God told them to be fruitful and multiply. To love each other unconditional like God loves
us unconditional. Adam and Eve had two sons named Cain and Able. God had found favor with
Abel because he gave the first fruits of what he received from his flock but Cain would give the
some fruit from his soil to God. Cain was angered that God had found favor with God so he
killed his brother Able (Gen 4: 4-6). This shows from the sin in the world Cain felt anger and
killed his brother. From this Cain was cursed and driven away from the presence of God. This
showed that sin is what ultimately separates us from God, when we feed the flesh to our sinful
nature. God told Noah and his sons to, “ be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth”
(Gen. 9:1). God had entrusted Noah and his sons to increase the population and teach their
families about God. God has told us in our relationships to spread his word to other people. To
love one another like we would want to be loved.
Civilization
God created the first human who were Adam and Eve. After they had sin from eating
from the forbidden tree, women was given the painful gift of child barring which made it
possible for humans to reproduce. This started civilizations that would be spread out threw out
the world. Then God saw that man was not turning away from sin. So God had sent a flood that
destroyed all civilization except Noah, his family, and all the animals they had brought on
Noah’s ark (Gen 7). After the flood Noah and his families had to start civilization again be
repopulating the world and creating towns. Civilizations were able to happen because everyone
in world spoke the same language (Gen. 11:1). There was a time when people formed a
civilization in, “Shinar” (Gen. 11:2). The people made a decision to build a tower that reached
the heavens. They did this so they would not have to scatter over the whole earth. The people in
this civilization wanted to make a name for them and have the ability to live together in one
place. God saw this and decided to confuse the languages so people would have to scatter along
the earth (Gen. 11: 7-8). By God changing the languages, we know have today all the different
countries in the world. By having these different countries has created more effective
civilizations by the building of better structures and technology we have today.
Conclusion/Worldview
From going over Genesis 1-11 has showed the power God haves on human life. God has
cared so much about man to create this whole world so that we can live on it. It is amazing for
me to know that God has created everything for a purpose. It just shows the love he has for
everything he has created in this world. He has shown his purpose in the world, his people, and
the different civilizations around the world. This has changed my worldview by me changing my
perspective in life. I am noticing God in everything I do. When I am so tired form the struggles
in this life. Then I call his name and feel the peace he brings me on that moment. Sometimes I
am just outstanding about the things God has created. It all shows a purpose and a need for a
creator. My perspective has changed by me knowing that everything I do in this life is for a
purpose. No matter what happens in this world God’s plans will happen in the end. "With man
this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matt. 19:26).
