Explain how the teachings of Genesis chapters 1, 2, and 3 shape your
personal worldview. Give at least 3 examples from Genesis 1-3, along with a
short explanation of each.
Your Answer:
The teachings of Genesis Chapters 1, 2, and 3 shaped my worldview first by
helping me to understand how, by God's wisdom, he created everything. He
supplied everything that was needed for Adam and Eve to survive and
thrive: Genesis 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:9 And
God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one
place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.
God allows us "free will." like Adam and Eve, man does not always make the
best choices. We are sometimes easily manipulated and tempted to do
wrong. Genesis 3:2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the
fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of
the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you
die.’” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God
knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like
God, knowing good and evil.”
God extends mercy and continued grace as he could have caused physical
death to come upon Adam and Eve after the fall, but he chose to protect
them from themselves. God' extends hi grace to us just as he did for Adam
and Eve.
Genesis 3: 22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in
knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the
tree of life and eat and live forever—” 23 Therefore the Lord God sent him out
from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24 He
drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed
the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to
the tree of life.
