THE GLORY OF GOD
The Israelite’s were treated and being held in Egypt as slaves for about what we know as
four hundred and thirty years. This is the primary story of the book of Exodus and their
deliverance from slavery and shows God’s plans through Moses and Israelites. This is to have a
better understanding in order to comprehend His grace and how important the filling of the
tabernacle was to the history of Biblical fulfillment. Exodus 40:34-35 (ESV) shows us the
testimony in the fulfilling of His purpose for our lives. To give a few examples are the cloud
covered the Tent of Meeting and the glory and brilliance of God filled the tabernacle. The cloud
that consumed the Tent of Meeting is the same that God used to show His divine presence peak
of Mount Sinai.
This was at the time in history when Israel was to leave the holy area of Mount Sinai
when God appeared in the cloud with them in the tabernacle. This is the same is we are today in
comparison of importance for us believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit nowadays as God’s
Holy Spirit lives within us all and thus makes us His temple, “Do you not know that you are
God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV)”. The verb herein
relates to “filled” is a real verb just as the verb “dwells” is the same as the comparison of the
Holy Spirit lives within the faithful believer.
Our Harold Willmingtons book that I have read and studied and have found to not be very
accurate in so many instances. But in relation to this study, Willmington asks us to consider the
images to understand to picture yourself being in the Tent of Meeting at the time that God
appeared in the cloud. Here is another comparison, you invite someone into your home and when
entering is confined to a small room just inside the entrance. You give your guest access to every
room in your home out of guilt and for further obligation of hospitality. At this point, we are to
remember the cloud had first covered the tent and God “filled” the tabernacle. In this filling, does
not mean that we receive more divine power from the Holy Spirit.
Many people have asked me on how does the “Filling” of the tabernacle relates to God
and the New Testament? In the Old Testament, the priests had to follow certain protocols or pay
the penalty for their sins of their people. Where they had to offer blood sacrifices in order to be
considered as being righteous to God every year. However, in the New Testament, God sent
Jesus to take away the blood sacrifices away, where his blood that was shed was the last in our
salvation and brought us all into a forgiven and righteousness in God’s eyes. All the scriptures of
the Bible all relate to and focus on Jesus Christ, most do not actual imply or name Jesus but
relate to the divine Jesus which is one of the Trinity. The scriptures points to the work of Christ
were finished on the cross which kept the law perfect by Christ. This took away all the sins of
God’s sinful people who were poured out on Christ where he took on the sins of man. The goal
of the law is to look at Christ.
It was after the exodus from Egypt that the Israelites were able to feel their freedom
which had been denied for hundreds of years. There were able to feel the presence for God being
with them, especially when they were backed up against and God parted the sea for them to pass
on dry ground and save them from the evil of Pharaoh’s army. They were also able to witness the
glory of God when he filled the tabernacle. Like the Israelites, I too have gone through a lot of
trials and tribulations in my life that held me back, in essence I was bonding myself as a slave in
my spirit which deprived me of my salvation and future joy. We all have a cloud over us while
God does his work in us to mold and form us into what God wants from all of us, just like the
clay in the hands of the potter. We are to live by faith and not by sight in order to be free.
CONCLUSION
At this point I would like to repeat my passion and belief to make my views known. We
must focus more on the Holy Bible and a lot less on al of the “Articles and Opinions” that claim
to be Biblical and are not. Whereas many of them all claim to have an angle or edge making the
readers think that they have a inside scoop with God and making abundant assumptions. This is
borderline on violating the law that we can’t ignore from Jesus where John was commissioned to
write Revelations 22:16-20 and makes it very clear and without any exceptions not to take away
or add to the Bible or you will have the life taken from you. To do justice to the Bible and to give
God all the glory would be to focus on the Holy Bible as the one and only as I heed Jesus’
warning literally and figuratively. I urge everyone to take the time and try to fully understand the
Bible and do not allow yourself to get distracted into false views or opinions that many books,
articles and even Scholars have as they are all human and by nature are sinners and are not
perfect, only Jesus is perfect! Therefore, please think and be positive, have faith and trust in God
with all your being. Do your very best you can and live a righteous life and always try to strive
for perfection and give all the praise and glory to God, AMEN!
