Target Audience Description
The audience that I’m targeting with this project are young and middle age adults, ages 20 years
old to 35 years old. I want them to understand the importance of a self-care day. Some may hear
self-care and only believe taking a self-care day is only for men or it may not be important but in
all reality it is and there’s not a gender barrier for it.
Message Summary
To persuade my targeted audience to take more self-care days.
Research/Development – Mental Processes
How do you plan to connect your visuals with any memories the target audience may have?
I plan to connect my visuals with pictures in order to connect with my target audience with any
memories they may have. I plan on using pictures such as journals, restaurants (food) and spa
beds.
Recognition
Which company, cause, or concept will your audience be able to recognize inside your
visual?
When looking at my visuals my targeted audience will be able to recognize that self-care is not
just about getting your nails done and it is not just for women. They also will be able to
recognize that self-care days can also help with your mental health.
Comparison
What do you want your target audience to compare this advertisement to? How will you
accomplish this?

I want my targeted audience to compare my advertisement to the basic advertisement they view,
that only has women in them. I will accomplish this by featuring men in my advertisement.
Salience/Relevance
What visual and/or textual plans do you have in place to make your project relevant to
your target audience?
I plan on using bright colors to catch the attention of my targeted audience. I also plan on using
calm and fun pictures to keep their attention.
Association
Do you plan to design your project in such a way that the audience would associate the
visual with an event or activity? What is your plan for this?
Yes, I do plan on designing my project aesthetically so that my targeted audience would be able
to visualize an event or activity when looking at it. My choice of layout will make my audience
feel as though their actually having a self care day but making my project look intriguing and
maybe using the 3D picture method to make it look realistic and stand out.
Analysis
What distinct elements do you want your target audience to identify?
I want my target audience to identify the calmness, the love, the positive energy and last but not
least the fun. I want them to also see that there are no gender barriers when it comes to
journaling, getting manicures or even meditating.

How are you trying to persuade the audience? Note: This is not WHAT you are trying to
persuade the audience, but rather how the content of your project will persuade your
audience.
I'm trying to persuade the audience by showing them different ways to enjoy a self-care day. A
self care day is not limited to just a nails and spa day, there’s things like journaling, meditating,
getting your hair done, even treating yourself to a date. I plan on showing that with my project
and using bright and neutral colors to display the joy and calmness of it. I also want to persuade
them into taking a self care day but showing people displaying big smiles and laughter. Mental
health is a very important issue in today’s society and self care can help with that issue.
