Biblical Worldview: How can/should biblical worldview be applied?
Christianity is a way of life that Christ brought to us through the instrumentality of the
Holy Spirit and the bible is clear on how the Christian life should be lived. In Romans 12:2 “And
be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” ( King James Version). The
Christian life is governed by the word of God and not by the dictates of the world. This life
should be reflected in the way we do business as Christians. It’s sad to see how commercialized
the Church has become with all sorts of means devised to get more money from members. Most
sermons are geared towards getting members to give more and more. This more so in third
world countries where ministers of the gospel pray on the ignorance of believers and use their
resources to live extreme affluence while a great percentage of members wallow in abject
poverty. While giving is good thing and is encouraged, it should be done by faith and not out of
compulsion for the God loves a cheerful giver (see 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
From the examples of Christ and the Apostles, we know that leadership is not something
that can be entirely taught as in a school. It’s something that is harnessed from within. The Lord
Jesus harnessed the leadership qualities in the Apostles by seeing the best in them and by
demonstrating a lifestyle that is exemplary before them. He showed by his words and action that
a leader is to serve and not to be served. Christians in business leadership positions should
interpret the environment and cope with unusual situations not just through their personal
experience but through the instrumentality of the word of God. The Psalmist declared that “Thy
word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I
will keep thy righteous judgments” (Psalms 119:105-106, King James Version).

With regards technology, the speed of technological advancement has increased in recent
years so much so that most processes are automated. The business environment in today’s world
is ever evolving. With new technology, increasing consumer awareness and the need to keep up
with changes in the environment, businesses sometimes struggle to meet up and must find ways
of adapting in order to stay relevant (Daft, 2016). While the advancement in technology has
limited face to face communication between managers and workers as well as between workers
and customers and in most fast food restaurants here in the United States with self-service kiosk
for placing orders, it still remains an effective way for Christians to share their faith through
interaction with one another. Every guidance and direction a business executive would need in
troublesome times to maneuver the storm can be found in the word of Christ who is the
embodiment of wisdom. The scripture says “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is
made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” He is the wisdom
we need to live and to do business the right way.
