The paper's capstone project does not directly concern mentorship or coaching, but it
contains opportunities for the indirect use of these skills. Leadership training can be one of the
intermediate steps of the proposed action plan, containing the elements of mentoring and
coaching.
There are recommendations on how mentoring and coaching can successfully influence the
formation of the necessary leadership competencies among the staff of Levoc Family Services.
Such a concept of the leadership training program could comprise the ways through which the
beneficiaries are mentored by leaders who already have experience in leadership development.
Active listening, asking good questions, and providing constructive feedback are some of the key
coaching skills that can help promote and develop emotional intelligence, change mastery, and
many other leadership competencies.
Further, new ideas for engaging clients through advisory panels and satisfaction surveys
could also be established with the help of a proper coaching and mentoring model. Thus, it is
possible to underline the importance of the Levoc Family Service listening to the clients and
being present as a supportive feature to them since this will help increase overall satisfaction
with the service provided.
Additionally, in terms of change management and communication, there is an opportunity
to use and reinforce mentoring and coaching skills in the context of employees' attitudes toward
implementing process changes. Support the members of the coaching staff going through the
change process and the need to offer continuous support that will make them embrace change.
Though not directly relevant to the specific objectives of a capstone, mentoring and
coaching skills may be indirectly used in different aspects of the project and helpful in increasing
the satisfaction and effectiveness of both Levoc Family Services’ staff and clients.
