My Sun Devil Story
My name is JJ Wiener, and I hail from Algonquin, Illinois, a quaint little town in the
suburbs of the great city of Chicago. Algonquin is a great safe place to grow up and
develop, and I am the person I am because of the people and moments I experienced
through my childhood. I have two brothers, Brett and Brandon, two cats and two loving
parents. My brothers both have attended universities and their experiences were
monumental in my own decision to attend Arizona State University.
My brother Brett attended Notre Dame University, and while it is a great
university with great traditions, I knew I didn’t want to be in a place without a bustling
town. My brother Brandon attends Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, and the
issue I found with this university was that it didn’t have any school spirit. I was so drawn
to Arizona State University because it held both an incredible school spirit and a great
town around it, especially with Mill Avenue. The connections I knew that ASU could give
me was also a very attractive aspect of the school.
I chose business because it’s a growing industry with never ending possibilities,
and provides me the interaction I crave. I am a people person, and I knew I wanted to
use that trait to my advantage. I also love the way money works which drew me to
finance. I hope to use my education from Arizona State University to take me into an
important role in an investing background. I also hope to use business to see the world
through international endeavors.
My goals in college is to form a greater understanding of the world of business
and to be able to take my first steps toward a great career. I want to be a part of a
business that will value my input and knowledge and give me opportunities to be an
influential person in the world. I am motivated by my desire to help and to touch the
lives of everyone around me. As far as individual skills go, I would love to further my
ability to speak on an intellectual level about business aspects.
My dreams involve my career, and that means to be an outstanding
businessman, that starts with setting expectations for myself that include
professionalism, networking, and knowledge or learning. I also would love to see the
world. I have dreamed of travelling all my life, and, like I said before, it has driven me to
pursue the career I have because I feel like business gives me the best opportunity to
both succeed in life and in career.
My name is JJ Wiener, and I am changing every day. The next step in my
development is here at Arizona State University where I hope to become more than just
another brick in the wall. I want to stand out and I believe that I’m in the right place to
