Personal Philosophy of Teaching
Reflecting on your teaching experiences, have any specific moments or instances
influenced or shaped your teaching philosophy? Please share those experiences and explain
how they have impacted your beliefs.
My educational philosophy is a part of constructivism, where students are active
participants in learning as they are required to think critically and translate knowledge into
practical experience. My passion is to foster a classroom atmosphere that is welcoming and
effective for every child and brings out the best in them. Some particular events or occasions
have been deeper in terms of shaping my attitude. One memorable moment in my pre-service
teaching period was when I met a student who was a great project learner, although passive, and
did not listen during the lectures. Moreover, this transformative process also drew my attention
to the students' various learning styles and needs that I once disregarded. It helped me redouble
myself in my lesson delivery approach. This was a powerful lesson in understanding that each
learner has a unique learning style, and we must develop an environment where the student can
approach the learning process individually.
Another important idea was my first time teaching a class online. In the beginning, I was
also having unexpected difficulties involving students and making them communicate in the
online environment. Moving from a traditional classroom to a virtual environment meant
discarding the previous approaches completely. I noted a substantial increase in attentiveness and
students' comprehensibility by introducing multimedia resources and using discussion forums
and autonomous learning activities. It also proved that technology can be a powerful tool in
learning and inclusive education. My conclusion stresses the importance of Technology
Professional Learning for teachers and educators to update on current technology and its

development. A component of my practice that evolved based on a feedback session with my
students is reflective practice. They offered great feedback and perceptions of their learner's
experiences, significantly altering my teaching strategies. One can also deduce that constant
reflection and working in a way that can be changed is crucial in teaching. From that moment, I
have strived to gather and apply student feedback as a fundamental aspect of my practice to
increase efficiency and adapt to the student's requirements.
Have you encountered any challenges or obstacles in aligning your teaching philosophy
with the realities of the classroom or online teaching? How have you navigated or overcome
these challenges?
Accommodating my teaching philosophy to the classroom and online teaching has been
challenging. One of the biggest challenges is managing the learner differences and teaching them
in a way that fulfills their potential. Adapting and being creative regarding teaching readiness,
degrees of readiness, and learning styles is a continuous process. I have handled this by
incorporating differentiated instruction that offers multiple ways of interaction, content display,
and student responses. This prevents many students from being left behind because they didn't
start from a good position for one reason or another. Another difficulty is ensuring the useful
assessment is fair, balanced, and corresponds with the learning goals. To overcome this, I design
several formative assessments, peer assessments, and self-assessments to give students the most
accurate picture of their progress. Constructive criticism is very important, especially
constructive criticism is very important, especially to let the students know their achievements,
and what they need to change. Therefore, a multiple assessment technique provides multiple
options for learning, thus enhancing other students' learning styles, and a general and clear
picture about students' learning process.

Regarding challenges in teaching, it was important to adopt a problem-solver and an
adaptability stance where, for example, differentiated instruction in the classroom, engagement
in online teaching, and assessment in the classroom were crucial in dealing with the challenges.
With the help of the concept of differentiation in instruction, I have given many ways for
students to approach the learning material, including giving different types of assignments,
employing different teaching methodologies, and providing different instructional materials and
approaches for both visual and auditory learners, hence allowing all students to learn regardless
of their learning styles. It is necessary to provide students with constant interactions within the
context of online learning, so I have incorporated a combination of synchronous and
asynchronous activities such as live and pre-recorded classes and discussions, group work,
breakout rooms for discussions, collaborative documents for group projects, check-in with
students during virtual office hours that allowed me to keep the students engaged and motivated.
To maintain objectivity and comprehensiveness, I have expanded the types of assessment
by offering formative ones such as quizzes and in-class assignments to check the effectiveness of
the teaching approach right away, making students aware of the process and their learning by
conducting peer and self-assessments. It is more effective to give feedback at the right time and
positively to assist the students in their learning process, focus on their learning styles, and
accurately depict learning.
