Finance Corps Branch:
The knowledge that I have acquired as an officer in Business Analytics and Applied
Data Science will enable me to perform my duties as an officer in the Finance Corps Branch
to the best of my ability. Specifically, the customer churn forecasting for a
telecommunications company shows that I worked on the prediction of customer behaviour,
the majority of which is financial. Hence, this skill is essential when it comes to the proper
utilization of the Army's funds in an appropriate manner and without wasting a lot of
resources. These involve the inherent analytical skills that I applied while working with big
data and statistical viewpoints, which can be used in the financial analysis performed in this
branch. I can effectively utilize these skills in order to manage Budget distribution, predict
possible future financial tendencies, and find out how to minimize costs. In addition, my
experience in risk assessment, as demonstrated through the Risk Aversion Project in India,
allows me the capacity to analyze fiscal risks that are associated with the Army's financial
well-being and find respective defensive measures. Being an officer impressed me with how
crucial cohesiveness is in the accomplishment of the mission.
Cyber Branch:
My education in Applied Data Science and my previous work experience with various
data sets and sightings make me qualified for the Cyber Branch. The field of applied data
science includes finding actionable conclusions from large data sets and employing methods
in business analytics, artificial intelligence, and statistics. These skills are directly applicable
in the cyber domain of the ability to process and analyze large amounts of data to identify
potential threats and their weaknesses. This knowledge makes me ready to face the change in
the cyber environment with the ability to work with structured and unstructured data
smoothly. For instance, I can apply for the development and implementation of techniques for
identifying patterns, recognizing trends pointing at possible cyber threats, and, as a result –
improving the situation with the Army's cybersecurity. Also, my previous work experience in
data warehousing and ETL processes provided me with appropriate technical skills to handle
and safeguard big databases that should be shielded in military environments for security
reasons. Thus, being an officer in the Cyber Branch, I know the importance of integrated
cooperation in solving multifaceted cyber problems. I have learned that there is a need to
make people understand the importance of information sharing and learning. In relation to the
third perspective, I will guide my subordinates to be acquainted with the existing threats and
new technologies so that everyone will try to solve the problems together.
Quartermaster Corps Branch:
My course of study in Business Analytics and Applied Data Science, along with my
fields in supply chain and logistics, makes me a viable candidate for the Quartermaster Corps
Branch. Skills like data analysis used in a customer churn prediction project can be
effectively used to minimize the time taken to order raw materials and to analyze ways of
improving the availability and supply of raw materials to the company. My skills in data
analysis and modelling make it easy for me to predict future supply requirements and, hence,
reduce supply wastage to ensure a timely supply of necessities to the armies. I can analyze
the potential problem areas in the use of supplies and create solutions to prevent the network
from being hampered, thus turning it into a responsive network. I understand that as an
officer in Quartermaster Corps, it is essential to achieve and maintain unity within a team in
order to have a smooth running supply system. The lessons I have learned from being a
Graduate Assistant have helped me sharpen my interpersonal skills regardless of the nature of
3
a task and organizational skills in dealing with multiple assignments. To achieve these goals, I
shall lead the team in improving our work processes and outcomes by practising the culture
of Kaizen and implementing new ideas from the members to support the Army's logistical
requirements. This strategy will not only increase the efficiency of operations but will also
enhance the morale and overall job satisfaction of team members to create a better
Quartermaster Corps team.
