RIBOSOME
Every living organism in the universe must have a body made up of distinct types of cells and
tissues. The stability of living organisms, including those of plants and people, is then maintained
by these cells and tissues in the context of their particular tasks.
The ribosome cell or tissue is one of the organelles that plays a significant function in the bodies
of living beings. The ribosome is an organelle that is compact and relatively small in a cell. It
also serves as a location for the process of protein synthesis, which is the creation of protein
particles. This process also involves the synthesis of RNA, which is regulated by DNA.
The first ribosome study utilizing an electron microscope was carried out in the middle of the
1950s by a scientist from Romania by the name of George Emil Palade. Richard B. Robert, a
physicist, coined the term "ribosome" for the first time in 1985.
Literally, the words "ribosome" and "ribonucleic acid" are Greek words that mean "soma" and
"ribonucleic acid," respectively. Ribonucleic acid simply means ribonucleic acid, although the
word soma itself implies "body." Ribosomal RNA is the primary component of ribosomes. The
acronym rRNA is also frequently used to refer to ribosomal RNA.Protein is another ribosomal
constituent molecule in addition to ribosomal RNA, or rRNA. Therefore, it is not surprising that
ribosomes, one of the tiniest organelles in the body, are present in prokaryotic and eukaryotic
cells in extremely high concentrations up to thousands of ribosomes per cell.Ribosomal
organelles can be found in a variety of locations in eukaryotic cells, including the cytoplasm and
endoplasmic reticulum. One of the organelles is the endoplasmic reticulum.
Characteristic Of Ribosome
we already know the purpose of the ribosome itself based on the foregoing explanation.
Additionally, ribosomes have a number of traits that can be utilized to describe them. The
ribosome's features include, among others:
1) comprising mostly of RNA and protein sequences
2) Protein makes about 35% of ribosomes whereas ribosomal RNA (rRNA) makes up 65%.
3) The size is similar to tiny grains and ranges between 20 and 22 nanometers in diameter.

Ribosome structure
Ribonucleic acid, or RNA, and protein are the two essential components that make up the
ribosome, as was already explained. Two RNA and two protein subunits make up each ribosome.
The large subunit and the tiny subunit are the subunits.
All of the large subunits that are positioned on top of the tiny subunit overlap with the location of
the RNA and protein subunits in the ribosome. Then, additional RNA is present in the space
between the two subunits. New ribosomes are created as a result, giving the cell organ a shape
similar to that of a stacked hamburger.
Ribosome Function
Cells of both plants and animals have ribosomes. Each of these cells also unquestionably serves
crucial duties in maintaining life. The ribosome serves as one of the cell organs that aids in the
process of creating protein in the cell, also known as protein synthesis, as was explained in the
explanation above. consists of two distinct subunits, which shifts the ribosome's role away from
cell transcription and toward the translation process.
In order to hasten the necessary and routine biological processes that the body goes through, cells
in the body must go through the process of manufacturing protein. The ribosome's protein output
also contributes significantly to the appropriate operation of the body's vital activities.

PROTEIN SYNTHESIS
DNA and RNA play important roles in the process of protein synthesis, which produces new
proteins. Adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and uracil (U). are the nitrogen bases that make
up the genetic material known as RNA.
Transcription and translation are the two processes that make up protein synthesis. Come on, let's
look at a thorough description of how proteins are made.
Transcription
Transcription is the first step in the production of proteins. It is clear from the word "transcript"
that some DNA is duplicated throughout this process. While ribosomes, which are found in the
cytoplasm, are where the process of making proteins happens, DNA is found in the nucleus.
DNA requires a facilitator, particularly RNA polymerase, to come to the DNA, make a template
for it, and instruct it to go to the ribosome because it is unable to get to the ribosome on its own.
Translation
When the mRNA is created, the messenger RNA, also known as "messenger" RNA, can
transport the DNA copy's instructions to the ribosome. DNA codons are found in the mRNA.
As soon as the ribosome is reached, translation can start. To create the polypeptide chains that
make up proteins, the DNA code must be translated.
Protein synthesis, which has two stages that are transcription and translation, is the process of
creating proteins from DNA via RNA. We can understand how genes are converted from DNA to
proteins after researching protein synthesis.
The quality of the protein in meals has an impact on how much protein our bodies need. You are
advised to eat animal protein, such as that found in meat, eggs, and milk, to meet these demands.
It's possible that you've been eating a lot, but there's no guarantee that the food you're eating
includes the protein needed for protein synthesis. Therefore, if you are easily tired, restless, and
moody, it may be because your body's protein synthesis is being disrupted.
