The results of these efforts are shared below.

Directions: In the space below craft your analysis/writing sample, including Part 1 (The Connection Between Academic and Professional Integrity) and Part 2 (Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work).

Part 1: Writing Sample: The Connection Between Academic and Professional Integrity

In the space below write a 2- 3-paragraph analysis that includes the following:

· Explanation for the relationship between academic integrity and writing

· Explanation for the relationship between professional practices and scholarly ethics

· Cite at least 2 resources that support your arguments, being sure to use proper APA formatting.

· Use Grammarly and SafeAssign to improve the product.

· Explain how Grammarly, Safe Assign, and paraphrasing contributes to academic integrity

PART 2: Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work

Expand on your thoughts from Part 1 by:

Identifying and describing strategies you intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of your 1) academic work while a student of the MSN program, and 2) professional work as a nurse throughout your career. Include a review of resources and approaches you propose to use as a student and a professional.

Week 3 | Part 3: Research Analysis

I have identified one topic of interest for further study. I have researched and identified one peer-reviewed research article focused on this topic and have analyzed this article. The results of these efforts are shared below.

Directions: Complete Step 1 by using the table and subsequent space below identify and analyze the research article you have selected. Complete Step 2 by summarizing in 2-3 paragraphs the results of your analysis using the space identified.

Step 1: Research Analysis

Complete the table below

Topic of Interest:

The Impact of Telemedicine on Healthcare Delivery and Patient Outcomes

Research Article: Include full citation in APA format, as well as link or search details (such as DOI)

Jin, M. X., Kim, S. Y., Miller, L. J., Behari, G., & Correa, R. (2020). Telemedicine: current impact on the future.  Cureus12(8). https://doi.org/10.7759%2Fcureus.9891

Professional Practice Use:

One or more professional practice uses of the theories/concepts presented in the article

Inform Nursing Practice: Learn how telemedicine is incorporated into healthcare settings and how it may be utilized to deliver patient care in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other healthcare settings.

Enhance Patient Care: For patients who might be unable to meet doctors in person due to social or medical reasons, consider the ease and advantages of telemedicine. Consider how telemedicine might enhance therapy efficacy and monitoring, especially for older patients in hospice and nursing care settings.

Implement Ethical Considerations: The article emphasizes creating a sense of comfort and rapport with patients while using telemedicine. While guaranteeing patient security and autonomy, nurses might think about the moral ramifications of employing telehealth technology.

Research Analysis Matrix

Add more rows if necessary

Strengths of the Research

Limitations of the Research

Relevancy to Topic of Interest

Notes

1. Comprehensive Coverage: The article discusses a range of topics related to the influence of telemedicine on healthcare delivery and patient outcomes, including technological developments, legislative changes, and patient viewpoints.

1. Limited Empirical Data: Given that it purports to offer a broader perspective of the subject, the article could lack details from particular research or clinical trials.

The research offers insightful information about the state of telemedicine now and its prospective future, which is relevant to the problem at hand.

For a complete understanding, it is crucial to add additional, comprehensive empirical investigations to this study.

2. Future Implications: The usage of remote patient monitoring devices and better accessibility to electronic health data are only a couple of the potential effects of telemedicine discussed in the article.

2. Scope of Impact: Although the article primarily focuses on the effects of telemedicine in particular healthcare settings (hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes), there may be additional pertinent areas to investigate.

The discussion of potential future consequences offers suggestions for more study and areas where telemedicine may be improved to improve patient care.

Further investigation might examine telemedicine's effects in primary care or home care settings, among other healthcare contexts.

3. Ethical Considerations: The essay highlights how crucial it is to preserve patient security and autonomy when using new telehealth technology.

3. Lack of Long-term Data: Given the recentness of telemedicine, there may not be a lot of long-term research on its effectiveness and viability.

For nurses and other healthcare workers, telemedicine implementation requires careful ethical thought.

The ethical issues and ideal telemedicine techniques should be further explored through the study.

Step 2: Summary of Analysis

Craft a summary (2-3 paragraph) below that includes the following:

· Describe your approach to identifying and analyzing peer-reviewed research

· Identify at least two strategies that you would use that you found to be effective in finding peer-reviewed research

· Identify at least one resource you intend to use in the future to find peer-reviewed research

The peer-reviewed literature on "The Impact of Telemedicine on Healthcare Delivery and Patient Outcomes" was located and examined using a logical and thorough technique. My next step was to do keyword searches on major academic databases, including PubMed, CINAHL, and Google Scholar. These databases are helpful resources for finding peer-reviewed papers regarding telemedicine due to their broad range of publications and research from many healthcare fields.

Two approaches were particularly helpful in locating pertinent peer-reviewed research. In the beginning, I concentrated on utilizing precise and pertinent keywords connected to the subject, such as "telemedicine," "healthcare delivery," "patient outcomes," "telehealth technologies," and "nursing implications." This made it easier to find items specifically relevant to my area of interest within the search results. Second, I used the citation chaining technique, which involves looking through the reference lists of papers pertinent to the topic to locate more scholarly works. Using this method, I could locate classic and more modern studies that helped us better understand how telemedicine has affected healthcare.

In the future, I want to use academic institutional repositories to discover peer-reviewed studies on "The Impact of Telemedicine on Healthcare Delivery and Patient Outcomes." Walden University may have its digital library where academics and researchers deposit their works in various subjects, including medicine and nursing. In order to gain a deeper grasp of the implications of telemedicine for nursing practice and patient care, I may access this repository's variety of peer-reviewed papers, theses, and dissertations. Additionally, I want to use the numerous databases and library resources at Walden University, including ProQuest, EBSCOhost, and PubMed, to discover pertinent publications on telemedicine that have been peer-reviewed. The university's library frequently makes a variety of scholarly periodicals and research papers accessible, making it a crucial resource for remaining current with developments and research discoveries in the area.

Week 6 | Part 4: Finalizing the Plan

I have considered various options for my nursing specialty, including a close look at my selected (or currently preferred) specialty and second-preferred specialty. I have also developed a justification of my selected (or preferred) specialty. Lastly, I have examined one professional organization related to my selected or preferred specialty and considered how I can become a member of this organization.

The results of my efforts are below.

Directions: Complete Step 1 by writing 2-3 paragraphs in the space below comparing the nursing specialty you have selected – or the one you prefer if your choice is still under consideration - to your second preference. Identify each specialty and describe the focus and the role that graduates are prepared for. Identify any other differentiators you feel are significant, especially those that helped or may help you reach a decision.

Complete Step 2 by writing a paragraph identifying and justifying your reasons for choosing your MSN specialization. Be sure to incorporate any feedback you received from colleagues in this week's Discussion Forum.

Complete Step 3 by examining and identifying one professional organization related to your selected or preferred specialty. Explain how you can become a member of this organization.
