Alabama

In Alabama, Hurricanes could cause destruction of property, deaths of people, flooding, displacement of people, spread of diseases and enormous catastrophes such as cause of sinkholes.

Normal daily activities are interrupted by the high speed winds that blow towards the land

Establishment of response and alert services in case of any emergency due to hurricanes or any other hazard caused by the same. The concerned organizations should involve all the stakeholders who hold the role of ensuring that response measures are made effective in times of natural calamities.

Alabama

Cause of homelessness due to flooding and destruction of housing. During any hurricane, most people are left homeless because of the destruction that usually takes place in affected areas.

Disaster management policies should be enforced in all areas that are prone to hurricanes. Effective measures need to be established in the bid to establish more safety areas for people to seek refuge.

Mississippi

Mass deaths of people and interruption of normal activities

Training and effective familiarization with the important steps that people should take in times of any activities. These trainings should be meant to alert people and give knowledge on proper response mechanisms in case of natural disasters like hurricane.

Collapse and damage of houses and destruction of property.

Establishing new methodologies in transport system such as raising and moving homes from flooding areas. The organizations in the disaster preparedness and response should have plans to involve different agencies that work in disaster preparation and response.

Construction codes that give permission for proper modern housing such as movable structures that can be transport to safer areas during hurricanes or such kind of disasters.

Spread of diseases and outbreaks of killer conditions.

Medical disaster preparedness measures installed for any emergence cases. The government through all the stakeholder organizations and departments should allocate funds to help in installing surplus medical supplies that are used during response time in disaster cases.

Louisiana

Lack of safe food for human consumption, destruction of food supplies and storage facilities

Establishment and construction of food policies that involve food security measures. Disaster preparedness in food security would involve having to organize emergence food stores, emergency plans and running awareness campaigns on disaster readiness and preparedness.

Triggering of fires and other artificial hazards that are affected by natural disasters.

Installment of alert systems and control features in any artificial hazard prone elements such as electrification transportation systems, cable and network systems, oil and gas industries as well as other important companies in the country.

Destruction of big companies and industries that are economic pillars in the country. The most common trends involve destruction of common infrastructure that are essential in the running of the industries involved.

Measures to build strong and durable industries beyond the strength of destruction by any hurricane. These structures must put in mind the previous hurricanes and their destructive speeds and force. The management of these industries should involve strong strategies and planning that provides durability and longevity.

Virginia state

Loss of personal investments such as property, real estate and land.

Establishing insurance policies to mitigate large extends of losses in case of any natural disasters. These insurance policies could be all rounded in regard to the ability to deliver and give right compensation and cover for those affected by hurricanes and related natural disasters.

Lack of organizations for direct intervention in case of any disaster

Creation of disaster response organization and training of responders to any disaster that might occur. Such organization is funded so that it is entitled to support and intervene in dire situation of need during any hurricane or disaster.

Lack of disaster preparedness and resourcefulness in mitigating any resultant situation and any damages or changes that are made by these destructive happenings.

Enforcement of training to the already existing disaster officers as well as training and making them to become skilled and readily prepared for any disaster.

New York

Damage of public infrastructure and High rise buildings.

Research and planning to develop future models that would lead to creating indestructible structures in high rise many storey buildings. This could help in developing important structures with disaster countering capabilities.

Destruction of emergence response infrastructure

Many organizations establish remote areas for effective intervention plans. When the response bases are near the hurricane prone areas could endanger the same resources that need to be used in evacuation efforts during any case of destruction.
