Due Date: December 3rd (6:00PM)

1. Using the Drawings (7 pages) and the Outline Specification provided of the Building

Project shown perform quantity takeoff (just the quantity of material not cost) for only

the following selected items of work. Use the attached Quantity Takeoff Sheets to show

your calculations and steps, and your final quantities. Remember that well organized,

and clearly written submission is very important for this project. (100 points)

03300 – Cast-In-Place Concrete

1. Continuous footings shall be 3’-4” wide x 1’-0” thick. 2. Spread footings shall be 7’-0” wide x 7’-0” long x 1’-0” thick. 3. Top of footing elevation shall be 98’-0”. 4. Foundation may be earth-formed. 5. Slab on grade shall be 6” thick on 4” of gravel fill. 6. Concrete material shall be 3,000 psi strength at 28 days. 7. The base commander’s brother-in-law has the only concrete ready mix plant in town and will sell you

the specified mix for $100.00 per cubic yard delivered to the jobsite, no sales tax included.

8. Reinforcing steel at footings shall be 150 lb/cy. 9. Reinforcing steel at slab on grade shall be 120 lb/cy. 10. The base commander’s other brother-in-law has the only reinforcing steel fabrication business in

town and will sell you rebar material fabricated as detailed for $900.00 per ton delivered to the

jobsite, no sales tax included.

11. Floor sealer/hardener shall be medium service, non-metallic type.

04200 – Masonry

1. Brick veneer shall be standard red brick (4” x 2 2/3” x 8”) in running bond. 2. Concrete block shall be standard 8” x 8” x 16” units in running bond, reinforced alternate courses. 3. All interior partitions shall be concrete block. 4. All exterior partitions shall be double wythe walls consisting of concrete block back-up with a brick

veneer.

5. All masonry walls shall begin at top of footing elevation. 6. The foundation wall under the double wythe exterior wall shall consist of 2 – 8”x8”x16” block up to

finish floor level.

05120 – Structural Steel

1. Steel fabricators must be certified under AISC Category II. 2. Steel materials shall conform to ASTM A36 3. Steel joist shall conform to SJI Specs & Tables, K Series.
