Clear, concise title with inclusion of research vari-

ables –the title should describe what the paper is

about.

The title should be 12 words or less fitting on one line and the same on both the title page and at the

top of the first page of the body of the paper.

graphs in the introduction.

Paragraph #1- Introduce the clinical problem and pro-

vide background information and theoretical under-

pinnings to provide context and rationale for the

project (include at least three scholarly/credible

sources – these are the primary sources).

Discuss significance of problem to nursing.

Paragraph #2- Provide the overall purpose for the

project.

Define PICOT and how it is relevant to EBP and nurs-

ing. Provide your clinical question in the PICO(T) for-

mat.

Identify search strategies including key words, data-

bases used, and limitations you placed on the search

(time publication date, type of study, etc.) in order to

gather the evidence to answer your PICOT question.

Provide ONE concise paragraph for each of the three

studies you selected to answer your PICOT question,

which includes their purposes, designs, findings, con-

clusions, and level of evidence on the pyramid.

The lead sentence in each paragraph should intro-

duce each article by Author (20XX) thereby eliminat-

ing the need for further in-text citation in the para-

graph.

Provide a synthesis of the evidence, comparing and

contrasting such critique "bones" such as study de-

sign, sample, location of data collection, data collec-

tion tools, data analysis, etc.

One paragraph for each critique "bone" compar-

ing/contrasting among the bones in each of the 3 ar-

ticles. For example, one paragraph dedicated to

study design, another to data collection tools, and

still another dedicated to ethical considerations (in-

formed consent/IRB approval).

Provide a final paragraph reflecting the cumulative

findings from the three studies.

Discuss the significance of the cumulative findings on

nursing practice, identifying potential practice

changes if warranted.

Discuss a specific change theory mentioning best evi-

dence with clinician expertise and patient prefer-

ence/values.

Discuss issues regarding resource utilization/manage-

ment relevant to practice change. Discuss how a

practice change would be evaluated best.

Discuss a specific EBP model that could be used to

implement into practice and mention potential barri-

ers to be addressed.

process was used to accomplish the objectives of the

structor) in the EBP Fact Table are the same articles

in this paper.

reference to self. Free from grammatical, spelling,

and sentence structure errors. Tone and terminology

should be appropriate for a general audience of

healthcare professionals. Avoid redundant repetition

of content.

Formatted using 7th edition APA guidelines (student

level) with title page (running head not needed) using

level 1 APA headings for the body of the paper.

Reference page to include appropriate level 1 APA

heading (center-bold), and the only references

should be the 3 articles and textbook in APA format.
