Knowledge and abilities developed from my undergraduate study:

Introduction:

As a student, I have learnt that bachelor degree is a compact program that can offer knowledge from different directions and dimensions to look deeper into specific issue, to narrow down to the bottom to look for best solution (Langlois, al.2016). Therefore as I conclude my undergraduate education, pressing needs for greater understanding on the goals and purposes of higher education include the following:

Good citizen committed to ethics and values; the main purpose of undergraduate or Bachelor degree education is about discipline specific knowledge or applied skills and developing generic skills (Mihăilă-Lică, 2015).

Provide context in which ideas can be most productively developed; important ideas rarely come fully developed from the brain of a single individual

Breaks down intellectual barriers between general ideas; accidental collisions of ideas are necessary for the continued productivity of faculty, and has suggested that the presence of students provides a “lubrication” to break down ideas between faculties (Hussain, Ahmed & Si, 2010).

Prepares one’s competencies; Get the desired outcome; for at least a professional level work, and also “to get a decent job, or to get a scholarship for master degree, or earn knowledge, or to get skills to do business, or to be a civilized person.”

Emphasizing the limits and modesty of problem solving; it is supposed to allow students to grow as people, develop time organization skills, to experiment and test themselves.

Accrediting someone more eligible and marketable to a much range of lucrative career option; Undergraduate education focuses on broadening student horizons; emphasizing the limits and modesty of problem solving, look at the world as a challenge not as a problem.

Mastering the disciplines of my career; if some people do not want to do the masters they can stop at the pre-master's level. That is the under-graduate level. Such a person is believed to have attained a reasonable level of understanding her/his field of study.

License for practical professional life; Apart from employment, a graduate degree makes a person to think, know others and the world and take right decision in work and life.

Developed communication skills and acquire some forms of interpersonal skills; For example, I may not remember every term of business theory that I have learnt in my first semester of Bachelor degree, but I know where to find every information I need.

Generic education into specific education in a certain specialization; Specialization in a certain field does not guarantee the conversion of a person into a civilized one but it may just increase the skills in a particular field (Cegielski & Jones-Farmer, 2016).

Skills to do business; the mind of research develops skilled ideas in business and hence pushes me to think of the right careers that i might fit in. In addition, the right business idea is inspired through the career i chose to do.

Considering the pressing need for greater understanding on the goals and purposes of higher education; It is necessary that higher education must connect undergraduate students with discipline-specific competences and dispositions for the workforce market, and assist faculty members to work with students in designing and mapping out institutional degree profiles that could help colleges and universities benchmark their higher education degree programs.

Acquire leadership skills; it helps young minds who think of venturing into businesses learn how to control itself and also creates a platform of respect to other employees or employers. It also unites team members to work focusing only on achieving same goals.

Proper ways of utilizing and management of time; I have learnt to come up with an organized set of time that involves the schedules of my activities and headlined with how long it will take. Time helps in making a proper step ahead since activities seem to move on smoothly and with a lot of ease. Hence bringing about dedication of what is being done (Mangwaya, 2013).

Platform to setting of goals and possible achievements; the knowledge acquired helps in making the right decisions channeled with the right goals and achievements. University degree is a step towards planning on setting a bright future for me and my generation and also to the others.

Clear mind for reasoning; after the university degree, a student needs to understand that he or she is crossing to the next step of life. The brains functions differently due to knowledge expansion, improved skills and possible abilities that may govern the right choices made. Sometimes a student may face difficulties in some issues but through settling for the right cause of action, and working as teams in problem solving, hitches tend to be solved or at least at the verge of solving. It requires an abstract reasoning.

Critical thinking and analytical skills; the ability to critically learn how differentiate the truth and the false, the right and the wrong decisions, people or ideas for a possible work done. One requires analytical skills to critically think (Veshnevai & Melnikovii, 2012), thus characterizing the advantages and disadvantages of a particular matter. This is also a way of digging more about why I chose this career.

General improvising of body language and academic presentation; a clear mind goes hand in hand with clear visions; During interviews, boardroom meetings, official seminars and many more academic dynamics and organizations, an employer or employee needs to look attractive based on the relations of the career he or she chose to do. For example expecting a doctor in a hospital dressed like a barmaid. The person in question needs to respect his or jer workmates and the office he or she vowed to work for. This goes by choosing the appropriate career.

Conflict resolution skills; one of the most exciting thing about university is the opportunity to live with people your own age away from your parents for maybe the first time. However, this comes with responsibilities and often arguments can come up over something as simple as you may expect, while you may ensure bills are paid for the first time in your life. This helps to be able to deal with day to day problems like office politics and many other problematic issues.

Excellence in dedication; the times spent in university helps a student to be dedicated to many things; matters sports, music, drama and many more extracurricular activities that boost quicker improvement of possible functioning minds. The knowledge acquired in exercises and dedication improves and boosts activation of new important and positive ideas and also helps in difficult questionnaires.

General research skills that maybe useful in career opportunities; research is discussed in a broad arena such as database searching, conducting literature reviews, manufacturing and interpreting problematic information that is in vast content, data analysis and also understanding your own interpretation of the analysis. A learned person needs to clearly be able to digest his or her own research content and should know why the research is very significant to his or her course of duty. This illustrates how useful the information is, but only through the right interpretation and analytical understanding.

Practical understanding and experience of the major fields of study and course outline; a bachelor degree satisfies that the student has the basic standard knowledge in the field of the specialty. Therefore the learner earns the title of academic excellence based on what he or she learned creating room for experience in the competitive market (Salvetti, La Rosa & Bertagni, 2015). I.e. A bachelor degree may take up to four to seven years based on what you are learning. There is a reason why it is scheduled to take those required years that at the end results to full knowledge, skills and ability to join the others in the area of study.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, I aim at providing the appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities in order to perform the duties of my position as illustrated on my E-portfolio. I also focus at mentoring young generations for their tomorrow in enabling them to support the overall developments of their career opportunities. Thus gaining knowledge that helps them in provision of golden opportunities that refines their innate abilities.
