Personal and Professional Wellness Model

Evaluation Criteria

Personal and Professional Wellness Model (25%) (40 marks total) – for Dr. Lara Lauzon’s

section of EDUC 100.

Due on Monday, November 30, 2020 (Please note the change of day – but not date – that

was listed on the Course Outline).

Students are asked to design a ‘Personal and Professional Wellness Model that will include

wellness dimensions that they believe will enhance their own health and wellness as educators.

1. A one page visual representation of the wellness model is required. This visual depiction can include a combination of images, artwork, or models similar but not identical to those

presented in class or other models you discover through your own personal research.

Some past students have created a 3-D Wellness model. If you decide to create a 3-D

model – please take a photograph of the model and upload the JPG file along with your

description of your model.

2. A one to two page – 250 - 500 word written description of your wellness model is also required.

You are asked to describe, briefly, each dimension of wellness that you include in your

visual image. Included in the description should be information about how the wellness

dimensions will support your own personal and professional wellness.

You are welcome to develop your wellness model for a specific workplace. You are also

welcome to design a wellness model for your ‘work’ as a student.

3. Two academic references are recommended, but not required, to support your wellness model. If you do include some references, you would add a Reference page. The

Reference page in not included in the page or word count criteria.

This assignment will be graded using the following criteria:

IDEAS 7.5/ 40 marks

Do both the visual image and write-up show an understanding of critical thinking with regards to

personal and professional well-being? What is unique about your personal and professional

wellness model? How might you use your own wellness model in future work situations or as an

academic student?

CONTENT 15 / 40 marks Does the content of your visual image and written description effectively illustrate and support

your main thoughts and ideas with regard to designing your own personal and professional

wellness model? Do both the visual image and description of your model link to some of the

course content presented in class, the assigned readings and relevant academic research articles

that you found from personal research?

STRUCTURE 10/ 40 marks Do both your visual model and written description present your ideas in a logical and coherent

manner? Is the image well presented? Is the written description organized, clear, cohesive,

correct and well written? APA style writing and referencing is required for this project.

STYLE 7.5/ 40 marks

Layout of your visual model needs to include graphics or photographs or text boxes or figures or

drawings. The visual model should reflect, in a creative way, your understanding of personal and

professional wellness as it supports your potential work as an educator or employee.
