Q1: Vanderbilt is going to build a new dormitory and dining hall. The building will be a LEED Certified and high performing building, and the goals are both LEED Gold and Energy Star certifications. The campus architect has asked you to recommend a delivery method for this project. Which project delivery method would you recommend? Why?

Answer:

I would personally recommend the IPD method (The Integrated Project Delivery) For the LEED certification to reach its absolute in both LEED Gold and Energy Star Certification for Vanderbilt University build. The IPD is the transforming of the construction industry. More constructors are willing to adopt this method because there is a less chance of facing the risks in traditional projects. In IPD method everyone is involved like the owner, architect, constructor, engineer and sub constructor’s involvement of all members at every stage of the project as working together at every phase gives an opportunity to every member to make a part or contribute their skills, ideas, and knowledge. The reason for me choosing this (IPD) method is because of the following reasons:

· Certification by (Energy Star). This method will show the amount of energy consumed, and it will provide the building to be more a green building to the campus, with less energy consumption and less money spent in the future. · If all the members of the project meet daily and discuss the project, then there will be no any delay in the project. · Working within (IPD) would design a project that achieves the points of 60+ points. As a result, this will make achieving the LEED Gold certification easier. As every picture has two faces. The negative face of IPD model is:

· Trusting all members is the key point. Trust make the team to work better and consume time. Many of owners are unaware about this IPD method of finance.

· They feel difficulty in understanding it and don't agree with it. Same as many constructors are also unaware of this method.

In conclusion, the amount of the point that will be generated from all these reasons, coming from the IPD method, will provide sustainable design and more solid results that will get the project to succeed, even in the coming years. This integrated method saves money and time also. The IPD method gives many benefits to the construction industry. The key point of this method is to build trust between project team members and take work from every member as a team.

The grammar is not good. Google stuff, change some words but stick to the structures that you find. Then the sentences will be correct.

DO NOT look at IPD in terms of risk, law, management etc. just look at it in terms of energy saving. And remember our charrette practice or the Methodist church example. How the architect was notified that they need mechanical space next to each room. If the architect had done the design before, they could not go for that option. People can discuss what strategies can bring points in multiple categories (synergies). They know if they fall short and they can plan. The cost of those changes can be smaller too.

Answer:

IPD method is the method in which constructors, owners, architects, and sub-constructors are involved as a team member. The key point of working at this project is to collaborate all the members at a point, and if they face a problem, then resolve it together. There is a project manager how knows about all little things of the project who is responsible for work. The first team have to analyze the problem and think about the problem in different manners that the project won't get errors and what errors will have to face the project and how to overcome them.

Design:

All the stages must be in cooperated with the design phase. Planning of IPD (integrated project delivery) carefully reduce the wastage of time and for all participants potential savings are produced.

Implementations:

After the designing phase an implementation phase is start in which make a model in computer and analyze it. Tested virtually and analyzed properly all systems that every outcome is accurate.

If all the three phases are complete accurately, then the construction phase is start without any delays. Presentations will occur during our regular meeting to enclose the project's gabs and listing to suggestions from each other. When the owner insists on floor-to-ceiling glass throughout, does that really need to mean floor-to-ceiling glass everywhere, or could it mean just in key locations? Could we reconfigure the parking so that we can purchase a smaller site, and put those savings toward a PV system?
